Spectrum 10K, Went into this hoping that if everything went well maybe I could break 43:00.Went out easy effort- (I never looked at the Garmin until I crossed the finish). First mile 6:14 2nd 6:40, some climbing occurs here and I kept slugging through thinking just make it to the bottom of the canyon and then you can get a break. 3rd mile 6:37 starting to tire but I could see Bill (Wildbull) ahead and surprised that I am close to him. 4th 6:52 started some uphill into the subdivision and not liking the hill. Wanting to take a break but kept thinking that I want to be mentally tough today. 5th mile 7:14, the race is taking its toll on me but kept chugging away. 6th mile 7:15, well I have been keeping a consistent pace here, actually I slowed down for the first half of the mile and had some downhill to speed up and even the pace out. Last .20 at the turn and straight away to the finish. Decided to push it harder, Bill was still in sight and I was gaining on him a bit. Passed another runner and didn't want him to try and pass so I turned it on harder. 6:12 pace. Overall I am very pleased with this race and my effort. Could I have done better, Yes, but that is getting nit picky. Over a minute of PR and 2nd in my age group, not a bad day.

Drove to Mike's home and ran back towards Mike and Bill and came back in with them. 2 1/2 miles at 7:45 pace, the first was 8:25 so when I ran into them I had to push it harder to stay up to them 7:36 and 7:09

The body feels great and if all turns out tonight I will go out and do a recovery run-
