12 miles @ 7:03 pace - 1:24:35

I have a hard time classifying these types of runs.  I didn't feel like I was necessarily pushing the pace at all but I did have several relatively fast miles.  It has been a fast week.

Splits: 7:09, 7:15, 7:11, 7:17, 7:29, 6:58, 6:53, 6:40, 6:52, 7:05, 6:52, 6:52

You can sure tell what is uphill and what is downhill.

I wish I could run a 7:03 pace and feel like I was hardly pushing it. Nice job.

Hi Chad. I noticed your response on Jason's blog. Blown away by your build. Please don't take this question the wrong way, but what do you think your major running related weakness? I have a hunch you know what it is. I like to cut to the chase and offer free advice when possible. I think there is too much blogging and not enough advice.

Burt – Thanks! I we could combine my speed with your popularity….

Bob - Believe me my weight issue (well lack thereof) is an open book (you can not offend me and I have come to have a good sense of humor about it). I know my running weakness is strength/speed. I feel that I have endurance nailed both physically and mentally. Strangely enough I can sort of relate to those that are obese in the fact that it is really hard for me to put on weight. My size is a combination of appetite and metabolism. There has never been a time in my life when I wasn’t super thin (although I have weighed as much as 130 lbs) and I certainly have never dieted. I do, however, recover fast and am rarely injured or sick and my weight has kept quite stable over the 6 months (the most amount of mileage I have done in that time frame in my life). I welcome any suggestions and advice - which is what drew me to this blog site in the first place. BTW Good luck on the Illinois Marathon.

Chad, I'm no expert, but I think you'll do great. Just keep the consistency and gradually build up the miles. Over time you'll get stronger and then you can start doing more dedicated speed work if you wish. You have a world class runner's build. Probably just need to muscle up the legs a bit more in the off season. Good luck.

Bob - Thanks for the comments. My plan is to hit the weights after the Ogden Marathon in May and just see where things take me. I think it should be good next couple of years.
