It's lovely hill week this week. Met at Sugarhouse and did a grass lap warmup, then did the very first hill at state 3 times up, 3 times down (except it was a little different down than up, we followed the state course for after the state hill). Then we went over to poker hill and did 4 of those, then back over to the state hill and did 4 of those. I feel like I'm getting better at hills. I'm still not great, but at least I'm improving. The state hill was the hardest one for me, I was tired. Once were done with that we did another grass lap and added about 1.5 after that to get to 10. I got sick over the weekend, some sort of cold, and it sucks. Hopefully it goes away soon.

PM:

we met at Sunnyside and went to the gully and did 3.5 laps, came out the top and added once we got back to Sunnyside to get to 4.

Puke hill has its name for a reason. I felt so freaking exhausted and lethargic, I was going so slow. I went out to 6. I thought that there wasn't going to be many hills after puke hill, but I was wrong. On all the hills I totally crashed. On the way back I walked way more than I should have. If I would've given in to my desire to lay in the dirt, there would've been no way I could get up because I was honestly so exhausted. I couldn't help but wonder what was wrong with me, even though it was super hilly I should not have felt so terrible. It wasn't quite like last saturday where I was dehydrated and tired, I just felt like the heaviest person in the world and was so lethargic. Not a great start to my day. When I got home I immediately grabbed my wallet and walked to Harmons and bought a protein shake, as well as gelato, but I was craving it :)

PM:

We did a lap at Liberty, then stretched, then another lap and called it good.

Today we went to pipleline. I added on with Natalie, Chris and Clayton right at the start, we went out a mile and back. I was already crashing before we came back to the switch backs. I felt horrible the whole run. Although it wasn't as bad as yesterday. I think I'm gonna try getting more sleep tonight.

My plan to get more sleep failed, as usual. We went to JCC today, it honestly didn't feel that hard, maybe because it was after what we've done earlier this week, plus it was cooler. I felt a little bit better today, not quite as exhausted. I read in some articles that colds can make you more fatigued, and they suggest you avoid over strenuous activities... yeah that's not happening. Anyway, I went out 4, and we did the usual hill 10 times. Man it was long and steep. Then finished back to 11, and got some amazing breakfast.

PM:

Ran to Liberty, but when no one was there I stretched for a while hoping that maybe everyone would show up, and when I was about to leave I saw Stormy and Eden! We did a lap, then when we finished Bill showed up. So then we did 2 laps, then .25 out and back to make it an even 5, but the 1.75 to get here puts me at 6.75.

Today we went to Cottonwood Complex. We did the big loop, then went over to the start of region course and did 10 strides. Then over to Bessie and did that a couple times all the way up to the fence, then recover to double trunk tree and fast again to the bottom. Then we went over to the hill by the triple trunk tree and apple tree, then to Miranda and did that one way and back, then over to roller coaster one way and back. Then Bessie full loop twice. And that concludes hill week. My arch hurt when we started strides, I ignored it because lately it's been warming up after a while and hasn't bothered me much, but it never went away. When we were doing Bessie the first time it still hurt, but when I stopped it would start hurting even more. Apple tree hill still bugged me but was manageable, then roller coaster was where I really started to feel it. The last two Bessie hills it was hurting a ton, when we stopped at the drinking fountain and started again to do a little cool down I honestly couldn't walk on it, it hurt so bad! I limped all the way back to the cars and felt like a loser not doing the cool down. Stupid plantar fasciitis. I'm seriously hoping I don't have a repeat of last year.

I've decided I will be better by Tuesday, if not before then. Today I'm not limping as much as yesterday, it still hurts but I'm trying my best to do everything I can to get it healed. I went for a bike ride this morning, the cemetery run. When I got back to sugarhouse I decided to do a road lap. The hills were pretty hard to bike up, and I was actually tired when I got back home with the uphill that way. It was hot outside and I don't have the greatest bike in the world, a beach cruiser. It was disappointing to get off my bike and realize once more that I can't walk properly. At least I found something that doesn't hurt my foot.
