AM:
Went to the track for some speed. We did a mile warmup and a mile speed changes. Then we changed shoes. We did 3 x 500 at mile pace, slower for 100, then 200 at mile pace. I was a little slow, I felt sluggish. Then we did a lap, changed shoes, and went up to sunnyside, did a lap and came back to the track. PM: I had a job interview/meeting, so after that I went for 4 miles.

| | Today was JV regions, so after helping out with timing and running the meet, we started our workout. We did a mile warmup and a mile speed changes, then changed shoes. I didn't bring my flats, but Megan let me borrow her spikes :) We did 3 sets of 3x200s. We did a lap between each set. Bill wanted me to hit them all 35 or under. I hit 34, 33, 33, then 33, 34, 34, and 34, 34, 34. Then I just did a mile cool down. |

Today was state! I warmed up 2.5 miles.
Today was the 1600. I got a terrible start, I was last in my alley, and when I cut in I was way out in lane 2, and then when I cut to lane 1 I was boxed in. I was off just a little bit of what I wanted each lap, but it all adds up. I came through 800 mark with 2:37-2:38 I think, then with a lap to go I was exactly 4 minutes. I didn't kick as hard as I should have either.
It was a good race, but I really wanted to get closer to 5:10. But oh well, I guess there's next year. I went for a cool down, but got lost in an attempt to do a loop, so I just looked for the buildings with a Y on them and followed it, found my way back to the track, but ended up with 4 miles instead of the 2 I was going for. |

Utah High School State Championships 2013 (0.5 Miles) 00:02:26 | |
Today was day 2 of state. After sitting around at the meet, the rain had cleared and it was nicer outside :) I warmed up 2.75 miles.
I forgot how fast the 800 is, and how fast it's over. Even though it's only been a week. My first lap was on pace for what I wanted, a 68, but then I slowed and didn't go with the group with 200 left like I should have. I got my second best, a second off my PR from last week. But I still wish I had just kicked like I did at region, then I could've gotten a much better time.
