AM:

Today I just in general felt bad, my left leg (weird, not the right one) was sore and I felt sick to my stomach. I think maybe i shouldn't have eaten that much before. In the race I just didn't want it enough. I made a move after like a half mile cause I told myself to catch up to Eleanor, so I did. Then I just sort of gave up and started to just run it, and a lot of people passed me. I fought people occasionally but not as much as I needed to. then with like 400-500 left decided I actually did want it and had a good kick but didn't start soon enough. I was able to outkick like 5 or 6 people, I told myself it was just like track where you have to have a good kick, and the track helped me pretend. But I proved to myself what I've been missing the entire season, the desire to win. If I can get myself to want it earlier in a race and race it to win I think I could do a lot better. But the majority of my races have been bad because I don't want it enough. I did feel like I was pushing most of the race, except for one spot where I slipped and let my mind get to me. I should get my mileage up, I always feel better when I am doing higher mileage. I think I've enjoyed these past few weeks of "sleeping in" and now it's time to run in the mornings. Now to find someone to run with...:)

Did about a mile cool down. I looked back on last years race (which was the same course) and it was overmeasured, 3.2. some say it was 3.3 though

PM:

It was a BAD idea to run through the U campus tonight. I forgot about the football game. SO MANY PEOPLE. Going along guardsman was chaos. I had to weave through the crowd even through the alley. (I went Shriner's run.) I decided to change where I was going once I got to the drinking fountain in effort to avoid the crowd, yeah that backfired. I went down virginia street and there were still a lot of people, and then had to stop at a ton of lights and there was lots of traffic, then had to wait for the trains, and it was all just a bad idea. Although I felt much better tonight than I did this morning. I felt like I was going pretty fast, that is whenever I wasn't trapped in the crowd. 6.75 miles
