Triathlons are my New sport and I LOVE IT  

 

Recent last few years  as I havent done much since I was 16/17yrs, on and off injuries, going out with Friends started. Operations on injuries- compartment syndrome front of the shin had small operation to release the pressure on the fascia.

Oct 2007.  Did the great north run.  ( I was in the elite ladies race, against Kara Goucher and Paula Radcliffe, Im sure u Americans will recall that race).

 I was just in on my previous times from the Bath Half Marathon. I ran it as best as I could off my training & circumstances...

 

Decided to do my 1st Marathon with London looming in the following April I was in the ladies Elite race again.  So the training was on.  I realise now I didnt give my body enough time to recover as it did break down in the last 5 weeks of my training. Injury bound, with calf and hamstring problems I raced! 

London Marathon, April 08 (Injury calf issues) 1st marathon  3hrs.12mins .30 secs

Dublin Marathon  Oct 08  3hrs.01mins.13  undulating and 1 toilet stuck/stop (LOL)

Bath Half 2007    1.26.35 hrs

Wilmslow half marathon english champs    1.25.39

18th lady  (With piriformis injury ).

Liverpool 10k 2008 Oct 37.42mins midst marathon training 

Wirral 5k 2009 17.41mins off the back off marathon week 

Track 3000ms 10.45mins  hmmm I ran this to get points for my club so I just did tactical and ran on 1st lady shoulder and sprinted at the end !

 

 

As a youngster

County Champion for Xcountry and

High Jump

and 1500ms track.

800ms 2mins 16secs

1500ms 4mins 48 secs

high jump 1metre 53  (cant do this now) and I never trained for it as a kid, just competed alot for points for my club, usually spend 2 hours highjumping, and skip off to do an 800 or 1500ms race then go back to high jump, Wish I took the running more seriously!

 

Run on more than several occasions for my County against Ireland county of Dublin.

Top 50 finnisher at 14yrs of age in english nationals Xcountry.


Short-Term Running Goals:

Complete my 1st Triathlon    1st lady   Brinscall  ok this was a triathlon with no timed transition i treated it as a training race to see if I like triathlons and I love them.

Complete off road triathlon  2nd lady.. 12 secs behind my age group world champion.  Tameside triathlon

Complete outdoor water race 1 mile   Salford Great north swim . 29 mins yay

Complete Olympic distance triathlon

Okay not much sleep....not good feel real tired today... another day I might not run but gonna see how I feel later might just do a slow run see how my back is.

 

Going out with my sons soccer team today they have an adventure day out and the weather is warm sunny and real nice...shorts and t shirt I thinks... then it would be bck to the club house/cricket club in ainsdale for a bite to eat and awards for the season.

Oh H/R this morning 42 ahhhh much better blood pressure was real low last night I felt really weary.. I suffer with low blood pressure,  it was 90/42 last night its up this morning to 100/56 much better. 

Thinking of seeing my physio twice next week to iron out my back one session and legs other....need to check bank balance then LOL :-)

NOt healthy today Icky Bunny sickly sick today..... so its sleeping speaking down the big telephone and sleeping napping nothing much but this... Didnt check h?r  or blood pressure

 

 

Feeling bit better tonght but taking tomorrow off work need to be 100% asap.... no gym no running and no anything YAWN....

been the physio today and had my back sorted.... much better my left side and hip has a weakness so Ive got to do one legged squats on my left leg more and some other strengthening moves just on my left leg till it strengthens more.

Ran outside in the rain with my big Bro Iain...3.5 miles  29 mins...... real easy early morn run.  330 cals

So I wont train this afternoon Im doing Ladys Lunch haha no just having a coffee with a friend.  Running tonght to the football in Hightown though.

 5.49 miles, decided into mile 1 to pick the pace up do a tempo run   550 cals

my splits

1= 7.01 mins   slightly slower than marathon pace

2= 6.43 mins  marathon pace

3= 6.35 mins tempo pace

4= 6.29 mins  tempo pace 

5= 6.51 mins   Marathon pace (slightly slower)

0.5  3.18 mins  tempo pace

Hmmm not quite the tempo session I usually do approx 3.5 miles at 6.20 pace, found it hard tonight, the route was slightly up hill so hard going, I did feel like I was running faster so maybe thats the reason......  My hammy is sore again.. easy run in the morning I think and tomorrow maybe some reps on Friday.  Oh my weight not going to weigh yet, I am going to weigh myself one week on friday, count down of 9 days gonna be good and eat more healthy... I either eat too much or not enough so looking at the amount of cals used today on such little mileage Im thinking I have to start being more careful....

No gym today I had a sleep in how lovely..... I might do a small run today and a good swim session in the pool  (were else would I swim LoL ) 

Im fed up, not a good mood today too much stuff going on and cant get my Head round things... and not running enough doesnt help, but lets see what the day brings....  

 Put in 1.5 miles although I swam it.

 didnt run this afternoon, I swam 1.5 miles 110 lengths in a 25 metre pool, all crawl no stopping and from length 70 to 100 I alternated fast slow for each length. Last rested on length 107 for 5 mins, then did one full length underwater then two lengths flat out...

Still a decent work out which took me 51 mins spent the rest of the afternoon on my motorbike and really enjoyed myself, bit windy but all the more fun.  :-)

Didnt make it to the gym as I didnt sleep very well at all,  but then When I got to sleep I couldnt get up LOL.

decided to hit the treadmill as its real windy outside and I wanted to see how I really did with my mile reps, as the tempo run wasnt great at all this week. Also If I felt awful id have to ring my husband to pick me up if I was out on the road and Hes busy today so that wouldnt have been good.... safe option the MILL..

2 mile warm up at 2% INCLINE  7.40 pace so easy warm up

took 4 mins rest, I was told to take more rest today by my coach as Ive been feeling real off this week, better to go for quality

2 mile warm down at 1% incline 7.59 pace again slow  easy pace.

Oh My no nature guys, just mtv or Football (soccer) news so watched soccer news hahaha.

The air con wasnt on but thats nothing unusual and the blowers werent on either , now this was even worse than normal, its like a sauna in my gym today and it was busy.

 

I ended up in shorts and crop top I was that sweaty urrggghhhhh..... during the session I drank 1 ltr of water and didnt feel bloated at all, so it was like pouring water into a bucket with holes that was me today LOL .....

 

Glad I got that out the way Bunny :-)

Well just short of 30 miles not sure I have run this little mileage for a while, I dont feel better for it either...

 

Had a great sleep last night over 9 and half hours sleep and then napped for another 2 hrs, so feel better for that.  

 

Rest day today, my legs are quite sore from the session yesterday it seemed to have really taken it out of me...

 

Long run tomorrow and Im not upto hitting the wall so I am not carbing up but I am eating as usual and going to take gels with me on the run.  Not sure IM gonna race next week mentally I am no upto it, and physically I need to get some good weeks in before racing I think, but going to see what my coach decides.  My blood pressure was real low this morning and my hr up to 53 so thats not good, I might go see my dr next week I might need to check my bloods again for any problems, I tend to do this every 6 months but Havent for over 12 months.  I am thinking I need more Iron as this seems to cause me to have low blood pressure etc...

 

Other than all that, I went out for a blast on my motorbike, Nature: a funny looking black rabbit on a roundabout sure it was a pet lost, and stuck in the middle of a roundabout, I go round and round roundabouts to get used to leaning more and getting me knee down on the bike.... not sure but I did focus on the bunny kept thinking its gonna jump into the road LOL    So Burt Dude a black large bunny :-)    other nature wasnt seen I was concentrating too much as it started to rain so bit slippy but more fun :-)))))) 

 

 Oh and I did my ssshhhhhhh    dont tell anyone first proper wheelie today
