XC (20p, 40c - I really should start increasing, but I'm lazy), ran backwards Dogpound. Started off skipping for a ways, then ran with Baker, Jeffry, Decker, Jordan, Monty, Rob and Ott for the first half mile or so. Then the group kinda split and I went with the slower half, but still my first mile was too fast (7:03). Tried slowing it down a couple of times, but didn't really want to - I was feeling good - but I think yesterday's craziness started hitting me at around mile 2 so that was slower, then at about 3.5 my foot started really hurting which made the last mile not so fun and lots slower than planned, avg. 7:33/mi - hill mile 8:00. Ruth:

Time to back off from training for at least a week. Do cross training. Talk to Dave ASAP. Remember (RICE) RICE = Rest, Ice, Compress, Elevate.

your injury is slowley getting worse from my observation.

Stretch it at least 5 x a day.

A week of cross training will not slow you down.

You may also need some shoes that have a little more support!

I would recommend first all of backing off the pace. You can get huge aerobic benefits at 8:20 pace, and this reduces the risk of injury big time vs 7:00-7:30. Do not run any faster than that even if the rest of the team is pulling away, etc, but run more if you can. Maybe you can use this as an opportunity to nurture and encourage a slower runner that has a hard time keeping up with everybody.
