Yesterday I tried to work my legs really hard so I could experience running on tired legs during my long run today.  Unfortunately I did a good job of that.

My legs felt pretty tired right from the start this morning, but I got going anyways and just kept putting one foot in front of the other.  I actually starting feeling stronger as I went on.  I ran completely by feel this morning, just focusing on running a strong yet easy pace.

After finishing I was pleasantly surprised with my times and just like I felt, my splits did get faster the farther I ran.

Total run 20 miles,  2:32:03  AP 7:36

I just booked our Boston flights!!!   Looks like everything is set now, except for the training part.

PM- I usually get home from work around 3:00 on Fridays and it was so beautiful outside. around 70 and sunny, so I jumped on the trampoline with the kids for like a hour and a half.  I'll call that my PM workout.  It was nice and easy on the joints.

Good song. I have that on my ipod.

Is that a group? Never heard of them. You know I'm pretty stuck in my ways with my music.

AWESOME run even on tired legs! I read that the time it takes to run your 20 miler is about how long it'd take to run the marathon on race day! Your sub-3 at Boston is looking good!

WooHoo for the flight! Larry and I were looking at flights last night. We'll book ours soon. Can't wait!

From fly on the Wall on Fri, Jan 15, 2010 at 16:25:16 from 166.70.192.189

Dang that's a fast pace for running by feel on tired legs. :)

Sub 3 at Boston this year?

From Kathie on Fri, Jan 15, 2010 at 19:00:58 from 63.248.105.188

Super run! I can't wait for Boston. I wish I would have talked to all of you before I booked my fights, I get in way to late on Saturday and leave way to late in Tuesday...Oh well next time I will know better :)

From Mack on Fri, Jan 15, 2010 at 19:14:04 from 71.111.182.118

Nice Rhett. Looks like you will be tearing it up at Boston this year. Painters is just going to be a bump in the road for you.

From DonGardinero on Fri, Jan 15, 2010 at 20:20:56 from 152.216.7.5

Dang, Rhett. First you run a marathon and then you help someone move and now you're jumping on a trampoline after a 20 miler. I must be getting old. LOL

I LOVE reading your posts!!!

Funny that you WANTED to experience such a long run on tired legs! You TRULY ARE THE HARDEST OF THE HARD CORE!!!

Nice jumping there as well! :)

Enjoy your Saturday.

From Rhett on Sat, Jan 16, 2010 at 11:08:43 from 216.67.211.75

Teena, I figure since it is only 20 miles I need to get my legs used to running when they are tired so, I'll be able to keep going for those last 6.2. As you know, you still have half the marathon left once you hit mile 20.

very nice, Rhett!
