Last night as I sat there recovering and feeling all beat up I decided I better have a recovery week.  For the last 5 or 6 weeks I've been running hard and averaging in the mid 50s on milage.  I wanted to do one more hard week and go about 60 this week and then take next week as a recovery week, but my body is dictating otherwise.  I hope to make all my runs a bit slower and shorter this week and then pick it back up again next week.

This mornings easy run 4.4 miles AP 8:37

Cumulus Miles: 4.40

Good idea taking a recovery week. That's what I did last week. I feel so much better now.

good plan - don't burn out now. Still lots of time to prepare for Boston.

GOOD THINKING in listening to your body and make adjustment accordingly. That's alot of mileage in the mid 50s for 5 or 6 weeks. Also, all your miles are quality miles, quality workouts. Last week was my "slump" week. My body just wouldn't let me run faster. We got so used to running with discomfort that it's good to look at our log and take a step back week when the body dictates it. Thanks for sharing your wisdom.

Tim and Smooth. Yeah, I can just tell my legs are shot right now. I'm sure after an easy week they will be back stronger than ever though. Thanks for the encouragment.

You are very smart to step back and take a needed rest. It makes me respect you as a runner even more.
