It was a nice week going long and slow, but now back to my normal training.

Today I wanted to get in some tempo paced miles.  Did a TM workout.

2 @ 8:00  warm up

1 @ 7:30 nice and easy

3 @ 6:15 good tempo miles

2 @ 8:00 recovery

3 @ 6:40 marathon pace felt easy today

2 @ 7:30 cooling down

Total 13 miles 1:33:15

Seems like that 30 miler didn't take too much out of me.  Yes!

Wow Rhett you are looking strong!

Nice job Rhett. Do you have a goal time that you are shooting for in Boston?

From Rhett on Tue, Mar 09, 2010 at 12:00:41 from 74.32.219.217

Mack, I really, really want to break 3 hours. Anything faster would be even that much better.

From what I have read/heard, Boston is a pretty tough course. But the way you have been training it wouldn't surprise me to see you do it.

Are you following some kind of written training plan or do you just go by feel every day?

From Rhett on Wed, Mar 10, 2010 at 12:25:01 from 74.41.249.102

Mack, this will be my 4th Boston with 3:08 being my previous best. I did that last year with a torn PF tendon. It is a tough course, but I think I can go sub 3 if I have a good day.

The thought of following a training plan almost makes my stomach turn. I need more freedom to do what ever I feel like. Sure, I'd probably benefit from following one, but I haven't followed one for a few years and don't plan on starting any time soon.
