Marathon PR - 3:05 (3:06 at Boston)

Completed a dozen marathons and a handful of 50 mile ultras.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Consistent aerobic and strength training.

Christie Clinic Half Marathon 4/27/24

Long-Term Running Goals:

Sub 1:35 in half marathon.  Then might consider taking a shot at full marathon again.

Personal:

I started more dedicated running and racing in my thirties.  Eventually I developed symptomatic bradycardia and SVT which required a cardiac pacemaker implant and a cardiac cath ablation.  It has taken a long time to get back to running consistently again.  Counting my blessings and trying to remain more balanced with fitness.

Mostly easy run, but was a little faster than usual and did a few surges.  Getting hot and humid again.  Leaves are starting to fall already.  Bummer. 

I hope to rack up more miles this week and have a solid Sept. before a mary in October.  Last week fell apart as I was busy with house related stuff and was out of town by Friday.  I can feel the stress level increasing.  Need to make running a priority as it helps keep me balanced.

Waited until the storms cleared off before hitting the trail for 12 miles.   One mile was faster, but not sure how fast.  Legs felt dead the last 3 miles.

Easy run mixing in some faster paces during second half.  I was going to do 20 miles, but my right leg has been complaining all week.  This morning my right hamstring sent out a few bites so I slowed down and decided to shorten the run.  It was feeling much better once it warmed up, but I had to be careful not to overstride.
