Marathon PR - 3:05 (3:06 at Boston)

Completed a dozen marathons and a handful of 50 mile ultras.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Consistent aerobic and strength training.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Participate in 5k and 10k races.

Personal:

I started more dedicated running and racing in my thirties.  Eventually I developed symptomatic bradycardia and SVT which required a cardiac pacemaker implant and a cardiac cath ablation.  It has taken a long time to get back to running consistently again.  Counting my blessings and trying to remain more balanced with fitness.

Lunch run of 6.7 miles, a bit of a struggle with the heat and after taking a few days off.

Strength and flexibility for 45 minutes after work.

Sluggish morning run, legs felt like lead.  Making progress in weight training but comes at the cost of running.  Has me wonder if there is an alternate universe where concurrent training both heavy squats and long distance running happily coexist.

Morning run, legs felt a bit better.  The old barbell squats did a number on my legs this week because I went a bit heavier and deeper.  Strength training is so specific.  Change up one little thing and you can end up sore.

Lunch hour run, started out strong but breathing and pacemaker fell out of sync which feels like you can't catch your breath.  So had to take walking breaks and then restart with rythmic breathing.

Felt surprisingly good on this run, temp was a little warm but not much of a factor.   Stopped for some water a couple times, knee was ok as well.
