Marathon PR - 3:05 (3:06 at Boston)

Completed a dozen marathons and a handful of 50 mile ultras.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Consistent aerobic and strength training.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Participate in 5k and 10k races.

Personal:

I started more dedicated running and racing in my thirties.  Eventually I developed symptomatic bradycardia and SVT which required a cardiac pacemaker implant and a cardiac cath ablation.  It has taken a long time to get back to running consistently again.  Counting my blessings and trying to remain more balanced with fitness.

AM: Ran slow to easy over a hilly course. I felt good until the last 15 minutes as I simply ran out of gas. Ended up feeling more tired and hungry vs. Tuesday's morning run.

PM: Tagged along with Claire for about 3 mi as she rode her bike.

Thanks Jeff. Just trying to keep up with your great training. Rib cage is definitely improving, but can still feel it some during a cough.

Not sure about a PR because I've changed plans this time around and running nearly all slow endurance. I usually would be doing a heck of lot more in speed work, but I don't want to get an injury, which is happening more frequently for some reason. I am running 70% more miles per week than I did before G-ma's last year. I guess I just want to run Boston healthy, try my best to beat 3:07, and meet you in good spirits.

Impressive once again in mileage this week. I'm cutting mileage a tad because I think 70-80 miles is the max I can do any type of speedwork with at this stage in my running life. Wish I had another month or two to prepare. Still shooting for pr, but feel sub-3 is probably more realistic for Fall...we'll see how things feel at mile 16.

Noticed you're one corral ahead of me...maybe I'll be picking up your gu rappers. Keep up the good work!

Thanks Dave. You're doing great as well. It's awesome that a couple busy family guys like us are actually running historic Boston.
