I have found cross training does not help your speed.

2 x 1600 6:00, 6:03

1 x 1200 4:38

1 x 800 3:00

At least I can run without hurting. But just 3 days a week from here on.

I just want to get in good enough shape in the next two weeks to pace by brother in Boulder in the BB for his 50th birthday. I want to push him down to 42:00 which would be a PR for him.

Crosstraining may not help your speed, but it seems to have helped keep you fast!

Let me know if you figure out how to acheive your short-term running goal.

JD, actually those are way off from my 10K race interval times I need to meet my 10K goal. I have to run 4 1600s in 5:40 and 8 800s in 2:40 to be ready for a 38 minute 10K. So thats why i will just run the BB for fun. But I will be ready for deseret news in July, hope you will do that one, it is a great 10K to PR in, all downhill (but HOT, even at 6AM)

Good luck with the training. A 38 minute 10k looks to be within reach for you. I'll be giving the DN 10k and BFC 15k serious consideration this Summer. Thanks for the info.
