got up and put off running as long as I could, didn't really feel like getting out with my blistered feet and not looking forward to a long run. bored with river trail so I just took off from my house at 8:30, ran up to Canyon road, through millville, picked up the TOU course, and ran out to the end of Hollow road  and back home the same way. There were a lot of runners comng down Hollow road, I then realized it was Jon's work running group coming down the canyon. There was an incredible wind coming out of the canyon this morning, if we get it next week we will be very fortunate.

I saw Jon, Cody and Allie at the junction of the highway and Hollow road, recovering from their run so stopped to say hi. Jon probably ate three or four bagels in the short time I was there.  I then took off and ran back home, including about a 3 mile continual climb back to the providence bench. I figure my 14.8 mile out and back is the same intensity as their 21 mile aided downhill canyon run with the 30 mile an hour tail wind.  Yeah.

14.8 miles, 7:35 average pace.

Yup, we were definitely lazy today.

By the way, you only saw 5 people from my work club. The rest were just other runner.

Nice run. Looking good for the half next week. How fast are you planning to go out?

From redrooster on Sat, Aug 22, 2009 at 21:38:45 from 71.219.123.203

Dave, if we have the tailwind I will go out fast (for me), probably 6:20 the first mile and then try to start hitting 6:15s until I hit highway 165 (end of Hollow road). After that it all depends on how much stamina I have from this limited training regime. I could use the company, so if you are up for that strategy let's run together until one of us gets tired.

Scott, that's about how I ran the canyon section at the Freedom Run. I was thinking around 6:20s but hopefully I'm in a little better shape than I was then and 6:15 might be about right. I'll probably be closer to 6:40s though after the canyon. We can start out and see how it goes. Take care of those blisters.
