Wanted to run 6 miles at about a 6:30 tempo pace. Quit after 5 miles at 6:34. Legs were just tired, and my foot still hurts. whine, whine... Ran in a North-South out and back, with wind first, and the wind was out of the south at about 13 mph with gusts, maybe it was running back into the wind that just took the energy out of me, but I didn't have another mile in me. So I decided to run down to the track and do some 400s or 800s to round things out thinking naively the track would be clear of snow. No such luck, stupid thing has a foot of snow on it still and of course no one is going to clear it off. So I just cut my losses and ran back to work.

Discouraged by my lack of stamina for the tempo runs and foot problem, I feel like I was running stronger and easier back in December than I am now.

Could just be one those days where your aren't feeling it. Just put it behind you and continue to hitting your training goals.

Keep up the good work.

The weather was nice today wasn't it? Hope your foot gets better. Be careful with it. Nothing like an injury to put a damper on your training and feel goods.

Joe, yeah the weather felt good. I am getting the old foot looked at tomorrow. If I get the green light we should go for some training runs from USU depending on your class schedule. Neal Legler (they guy we ran on the track with last fall) signed up for Ogden too, and he probably would be interested in some training runs too.
