No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

Today my leg is a little swollen and light purple in color. I saw the doc again and he gave me a novocaine shot in my knee joint to see if the pain was coming from the joint or the muscles/tendons before ordering an MRI. The shot had no effect on the pain and he said that was a good thing? Now I'm sitting in the waiting room for an MRI watching the runners go by outside...

I wonder if I can find a cheap hand-bike on craigslist?

Oh my! What was the outcome?

From rattletrap on Wed, Jul 01, 2009 at 10:02:59 from 70.192.31.175

The doc can't see me again until Monday, so I won't know until then.

Oh crud! I am so sorry about this mess! It is ow Friday. How are you feeling now?? Hopefully off crutches and less purple?

Keep us filled in, we will cross our fingers for you!

The swelling is down and the color is normal now, but I still can't bear any weight on my right leg so I can't get around at all without the crutches. My PT thinks I may also have a fractured tibia. I won't know anything for sure until I see the sports doc on Monday to talk about my MRI.

Dang, that is not good. Well, hobble on until you get it figured out. I am hoping for the best.

I'm sure they could tell what's wrong if they cared as much as I do :) They just didn't have time for me until Monday. Meanwhile I continue to hobble around the best I can. I am jonesin' for a run so bad that I'm considering doing the 4th of July fun run with my crutches. Too bad there isn't a 1 miler, I think I need a bit more training before my shoulders would be up to a 5k.

From Kelli on Sat, Jul 04, 2009 at 15:36:18 from 71.219.89.21

There was a guy that ran the 5k today on stilts, so I bet you could do it on crutches (but I am not saying to do it!!)
