Happy New Year! I haven't missed a New Years morning race since I started running in May 2003 and I can't wait to drag my tired butt to the start line again to begin 2012 right. I'm praying for everyone here to have a fast, fun, and injury free year. Carpe Viam

Perfect conditions for a race this morning! 38°, clear skies and 1mph wind. I had a good race considering I ignored my garmin and just ran at a pace that "felt" fast enough to PR. I was a little disappointed when I saw 19 on the clock as I approached the finish line. I could have fixed that by training harder or racing harder, or maybe just paying attention to my stupid watch. Garmin time was 19:34 and even though my time wasn't listed on the results, they had me at 15th overall, 2nd in my AG and 1st in my AG for the series since Scott took first today in our AG and he's not doing the whole series.

Can't wait to see how you do! I am sure you will crush your last years run! Happy New Year Rattletrap!!!

The faster and older I get, the smaller those PR margins get. The last time I really "crushed" anything was in 2010. That was a good year :)

I have the same hope for me and everyone else as well. Happy New Year! :)

Using the Garmin helped me today for sure. Good to see you at the races today, Mike.

Last year I ran a pretty bad race at the 5k (19:45), but bounced back to run great at 15k and 20k. Don't throw in the towel on 2012 being a good year too!

From Tom Slick on Sun, Jan 01, 2012 at 21:39:07 from 69.171.160.52

what a great way to start a new year off right!

From rAtTLeTrAp on Sun, Jan 01, 2012 at 22:17:27 from 67.160.56.253

Thanks! It was a good day indeed. Any run that I finish is a great run and I'm psyched for the rest of this series as usual :)

Way to go! Sorry you missed the downward trend, just barely! Still a great, super fast race.

Thanks BNS. I see you are gearing up for a comeback. What can I do to help motivate you? I know it's tough to start over, but you can do it!
