No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

Darn your weather!!! We are having an absolutely gorgeous day here. I try to send some sun your way!

Thanks, I don't know how much more of this rain I can take. It never bothered me to run in the rain before, but now that I'm doing more miles it takes it's toll on me. On top of the pain, everybody was making fun of me at work today for walking like a cowboy. The good news is that after 3 10s in a row and the 15 miler on Saturday my legs feel great aside from the chafing. If things ever dry up around here I think I could handle a few 60+ mile weeks :) I was sure I would max out at 40 when I started training for this marathon.

chaffing is no fun! I hear body glide does wonders...may want to consider it if it continues to be moist around there!

From rattletrap on Tue, Mar 17, 2009 at 21:55:30 from 24.19.93.139

Body glide is great stuff. I use it on long runs, but usually don't need it otherwise. Today I was completely soaked and everything was rubbing :( When I got home I looked like I just climbed out of a swimming pool.

At the St George marathon this year with all of the rain, my shirt rubbed on my collar bones and I had the nastiest scabs there for a few weeks. IT HURT! Dang rain!!!!

Why do we run again????

Harley riders have this saying that goes: "If you have to ask, you wouldn't understand". I think running is kind of like that. I have also heard "Life is short, running makes it seem longer" I kind of like that one too.

I may post those on my fridge!
