Kym and I tried to run on the track this morning, but it was closed and so was the one at the next closest high school. We ended up coming home and running 3 hilly miles around the neighborhood. My legs are still sore and I'm a little discouraged about my marathon plans for this year. I want to run hard and my legs are just not ready :(

Hey man,

I found this book (also recommended by Sasha) - if you are looking to build up leg strength you should look at it - specifically the section about hill sprints - the whole book is free to read online. I plan on incorporating more hill sprints into my future training. Hopefully, it will help me avoid injury as well.

Good luck!

That leg strength will come back, give it a little time. Your runs this week have been faster than i can pull off, and my injury was nowhere near yours. YOU WILL BE BACK, you worked hard while you were out and it will come back, promise.

Glad to hear you are running!!!

April - My brain is in Boston and my legs are in death valley. I WAS running, but now I'm just limping and whining...

derhammer - I eat hills for breakfast :) I will check out the book though. Thanks for the link.

Kelli - I feel like my hard work was for nothing right now. My quads finally stopped aching after my easy run with Kym on Friday and now I have this pain in the back of my knee that won't go away even after 4 days of rest it still hurts to walk. I was going to call my doc for an early follow up today but I didn't have time at work.

I am sorry. I KNOW you are frustrated. Injuries stink, and that is putting it nicely. Just take care and ease into it, I know it will come back. you worked your butt off while injured!!!

You will get there! Don't rush it!
