Taper FAIL! Still on the low end for mileage compared to my average for the last couple months and lower than last week, but I could not stick to my 30 mile goal for this week :(

I decided to run down to the coffee shop to meet Preston. It's only a few miles and I really wanted to run the downhill stretch to get a couple speedy miles in wthout a lot of extra effort. Hoping it will make MP feel a little bit more "normal" or "easy" on Monday. I met Preston in the park where he did a few strides, I picked it up a little bit, but didn't want to push it too much with anything out of the ordinary. I just let him go and caught back up on the recovery. I ran ahead for the last mile or so down Steilacoom hill at 6:05 and felt great.

After coffee I ran home(uphill) at less than a race effort and still dipped under MP. I'll give credit for that to the caffeine. No aches, no pains, and no worries this year. It's going to be a great weekend!

Looking forward to that cold one after the race.

Forecast high for monday is 86. You may want to lighten up your wardrobe...

From rAtTLeTrAp on Fri, Apr 13, 2012 at 20:17:26 from 174.255.176.84

Kam - I'm already planning for that. Bummer huh? I'll still be sportin' the flaming board shorts.

From Derunzo on Sun, Apr 15, 2012 at 12:03:17 from 24.218.176.97

Rattle... I thought that I would be flying solo for the Marathon, but the family will be in tow. This being said, I'll be watching from the Newton Hills. More peaceful for family viewing. I'll try and lock in on you and other FRB'ers so listen for a loud "RattleTRAAAAAAAAP" !!!!!!!!

From rAtTLeTrAp on Sun, Apr 15, 2012 at 12:15:07 from 174.252.58.237

Derunzo - Great, you can see me at my worst :) I'll need all the encouragement I can get. I'll be wearing a white shirt with the flaming board shorts. Way too hot for the top half of my race duds. Throw some water on me if you see me.

From JD on Sun, Apr 15, 2012 at 12:29:11 from 71.32.201.173

good luck tomorrow Rattler - stay cool!

From rAtTLeTrAp on Sun, Apr 15, 2012 at 12:33:25 from 174.252.58.237

Thanks JD, same to you. If I can find you after the race I'll buy you a PBR. Do you know if any FRBers are planning to do the after race party at House of Blues?

From JD on Sun, Apr 15, 2012 at 12:36:27 from 71.32.201.173

lol!if i were in Boston i'd probably have to check that out. with my pace, i'm going to have to wait until i'm 60 yrs old to qualify for this race.

From rAtTLeTrAp on Sun, Apr 15, 2012 at 12:59:06 from 174.252.58.237

Bummer. I thought you were here too.

Just say "Flame on!!" as your chute opens. Take my word for it, it helps! Good luck, buddy!

It is going to be a great day Monday (today) I'm watching the times come in right now...I know you're doing good!

From DLTheo on Mon, Apr 16, 2012 at 12:10:35 from 155.130.107.41

Phew, you made it! I hope you were taking it like a nice stroll and not dying from heat exhaustion! Way to endure a hot, tough day.

From rAtTLeTrAp on Mon, Apr 16, 2012 at 13:28:34 from 174.252.61.89

I wish I could say it was a nice sunny training run, but the heat kicked my @ss! Scorching heat, pop stop, projectile otterpop vomit, calf cramps... This time was absolutely the best I had in me today.

From Derunzo on Mon, Apr 16, 2012 at 13:38:07 from 24.218.176.97

Rattle.... saw you at Mile 19 and I let go of a loud "Yeah Baby RattleTRAAAAP!" Thanks for the high five, you were looking good when I saw you!

From Derunzo on Mon, Apr 16, 2012 at 13:38:31 from 24.218.176.97

What was your BIB number?

From DLTheo on Mon, Apr 16, 2012 at 14:15:57 from 155.130.107.41

What happened to Preston? He must've been really bad off, unless he stopped for a beer. Looks like he walked the last 6-8 miles? I hope he is OK!

From I Just Run on Mon, Apr 16, 2012 at 14:24:11 from 67.79.11.242

Does anyone know if Amy started...or finished?

From I Just Run on Mon, Apr 16, 2012 at 14:26:00 from 67.79.11.242

Ah...I found her: 4:42:03

From DLTheo on Mon, Apr 16, 2012 at 14:27:04 from 155.130.107.20

Yeah, Amy did pretty well, considering. She actually picked up the pace the last 10k, as did RattleTrap. Great job, both of you!

From rAtTLeTrAp on Mon, Apr 16, 2012 at 15:06:52 from 174.252.61.89

Amy almost beat Preston :)

From I Just Run on Mon, Apr 16, 2012 at 15:35:48 from 67.79.11.242

Way to go Rattle... I know it was rough out there...!

From Kelli on Wed, Apr 18, 2012 at 19:27:30 from 71.219.98.16

OH MY GOSH! I need the full report! Otter pop vomit? Projectile? With those crowds? I hope you did not spray anyone!!!!
