4:30am

I knew it would be tough to keep up with Preston after basically taking 3 weeks off (only 4 runs and two of them at nearly walking pace). My foot didn't bug me too much for the first few miles, but I could feel the pace wearing me down already. I resisted the urge to look at my watch, until Preston asked me about my new Garmin. I instinctively looked at it and noticed my pace was 6:55 ugh! I didn't want to know how fast I was going. This just made it seem harder to keep up. I was happy to just keep up and not get stuck downwind of his dried mango issues regardless of how slow or fast I was going. That was a backdraft I didn't want any part of! I manged to hang in there all the way to the coffee shop despite the growing pain in my foot and my general exhaustedness. After coffee we jogged over to his house so I could see the progress on his construction project. It's looking very good.

I'm going to the foot doc today so I thought if it flared up from running on it again that might make it easier for him to pinpoint where the pain is and figure out what's going on in there. Either that or he'll scold me for being an idiot runner that doesn't know when to quit. Or maybe both. Should be interesting...

Good luck at the doctors. Where can I buy dried mangoes?

From rAtTLeTrAp on Fri, Jun 29, 2012 at 14:20:35 from 174.253.198.121

Thanks flat. Ask Preston about the mangos, his blog is on my list of favorites.

From I Just Run on Fri, Jun 29, 2012 at 14:30:45 from 67.79.11.242

Hope it goes well at the doc. I'll keep the dried mangos in mind for my next race, it might come in handy!

From rAtTLeTrAp on Sat, Jun 30, 2012 at 01:27:55 from 174.253.196.208

I had to trade one of my Asics for an aircast boot today :(

From Kelli on Sun, Jul 01, 2012 at 10:11:25 from 67.172.235.55

Broken foot???? CRAP.

From april27 on Sun, Jul 01, 2012 at 17:41:13 from 99.188.251.180

Not a boot! Can't run in that!

From rAtTLeTrAp on Sun, Jul 01, 2012 at 17:42:46 from 174.253.195.167

Yeah, unfortunately, there was no "aircast" division in the 5k at the park today :(

From DLTheo on Sun, Jul 01, 2012 at 21:04:48 from 76.28.161.119

So sorry to hear it RT. I've had that before in high school, had to wear a cast to my senior prom :(. Hope you get back fast!

From rAtTLeTrAp on Sun, Jul 01, 2012 at 22:38:28 from 174.253.195.167

I won't be down for too long and I plan to come back rested and ready for some new PRs.

From Burt on Sun, Jul 01, 2012 at 23:16:01 from 72.223.80.161

Go RT! Heal that heel! Or whatever.

From I Just Run on Mon, Jul 02, 2012 at 09:37:53 from 67.79.11.242

How long will you be out?

I'm almost scared to see how strong you come back this time. I remember what you said you did after your broken leg :-)

Try to enjoy your time off, look at it as a time of rest before the storm!

From rAtTLeTrAp on Mon, Jul 02, 2012 at 18:59:54 from 174.255.176.14

I'll be out at least a month, probably closer to 6 weeks. We cancelled our Y membership so I may have to resort to biking. I'll go nuts just sitting around that long.

From april27 on Mon, Jul 02, 2012 at 19:35:00 from 99.188.251.180

Kelli - Ha Ha! I try my best to stay out of the kitchen. I was a baker for 11 very loooooooong years!

From Burt on Tue, Jul 03, 2012 at 10:59:21 from 72.223.80.161

And what exactly is that supposed to mean....?

From I Just Run on Tue, Jul 03, 2012 at 11:09:00 from 67.79.11.242

Ha ha...Burt, you're always posting interesting videos and stuff on your blog. I was just thinking of you :-) Actually this video was a little disturbing!

From Burt on Tue, Jul 03, 2012 at 11:11:57 from 72.223.80.161

Would you be quiet? I'm trying to read your triathlon race report!

From I Just Run on Wed, Jul 04, 2012 at 10:45:03 from 12.162.141.2

Okay Burt, was that long enough? I haven't said anything since yesterday. Now can we get back to our conversation? Oh, I forgot what we were talking about :-(

From Burt on Wed, Jul 04, 2012 at 10:47:07 from 72.223.80.161

We were talking about how Rattletrap is the master of finding funny videos on the internet.

From I Just Run on Wed, Jul 04, 2012 at 10:58:43 from 166.147.72.151

Oh yes! Rattletrap, can you find us something interesting? I'm getting bored :-)

From rAtTLeTrAp on Wed, Jul 04, 2012 at 14:09:07 from 98.247.27.122

It's a rerun, but I just posted a good one on today's blog.
