I was not able to run this morning as I was up all night with my son Ethan who had the flu, poor kid. I am going to try and get in a late evening jog tonight if I can find a minute, my left tibia and calf are still really bothering me, so if I do get out it won't be for very far. I will up date late this evening. Aren't kids great,  ya gota luv em. I am on no sleep...

I finally was able to get a good nights rest and my son Ethan seems to be getting better, so I was up at 5:15am and then headed out. I decided to do a 3x800 meters with a tinman tempo thrown in, my splits for the 800 meter pick-ups were done at marathon pace or close to that and they went as follows; 7:40(3:40), 8:07(3:59) up-hill, 6:59(3:20)alittle downhill. The rest of the run was done at a tinman tempo and those splits went as follows; 8:18, 8:41(recovery), 8:48(recovery), 8:14, 8:23. My left tibia and calf where alittle sore at the beginning but then seemed to lossen up as the run went on, I did some strength training on my legs and core area to end out the morning. I am hoping that the strength training will help the calf discomfort and help it along the way to recovery, that seemd to help my PF get better so I am hoping for the same result here.

Recovery run tomorrow and then Harry's hill on Thursday...

My standard recovery run this morning, Payson park loop. My legs were dead for the most part and my calf was hurting along with I am losing a nail on my foot so it seems I am falling apart... Then about halfway through my run I had a rush of you know what, it was like trying to hold back the tide, if you know what I mean!!! So I lymped my way to the nearest bathroom in the park and they where locked, I mean who locks the bathrooms in the heat of the summer... So at this point I was at the end of my rope and in tears, and I happened to find a trash can and well lets just say it wasn't pretty and leave it at that! I struggled the rest of the way home and right now I feel as though I have been beat with a bat, I am wondering if I picked up what my son Ethan had, I quess time will tell on that... My average pace was 9:30 and my average heart rate  was 131 total time was 1:17:17, for about a half of a mile I had to walk so that accounts for the slower time and that was right before I had my little problem, I am sorry for those of you who have to read this but I hope you can all sympathise with my plight...

Harry's hill loop this morning. When I started out  My leg was hurting so bad that I thought I was going to have to quit, but then as the run went on it got better and better and then towards the end it felt great, so I don't know what is up with it. I haven't ever had an injury like this, I don't know if it just goes numb after a mile or so or if it loosens up I can't really tell. I felt strong going up Harry's hill and then I extended the run to the round about to the mail boxes for the woodland hills people and then I turned around and came back home. This is a good hill workout for up hill and downhill training, my average pace was 8:46 and my heart rate average was 141 total time was 1:16:17, I did a tinman tempo on the way back for the downhill with 1 mile at marathon pace (7:48) the rest at a 8:25 pace which is a tinman tempo for me.

I will do a recovery run tomorrow to get ready for the Payson Canyon run on Saturday with my brother Curtis (fast running turtle) that should be a tough one!

A major recovery run this morning. My legs were dead from yesterday's workout and the strength training, so I decided to do a true recovery run for me and keep my hear rate under 135 and take it real easy, I did not want to have dead legs tomorrow when we are running down Payson Canyon... My calf and tipia were less painful, which is a good sign but my stomach is not feeling real good if you know what I mean, the problem wasn't as bad as a few days ago but still alittle up set. My average heart rate was 129 and my average pace was 9:14, total time was 55:32, so it was a real easy run and I think my body was saying thank you.

Payson canyon tomorrow, running with my brother Curtis should be a real blast!!

Payson canyon downhill run this morning with my borther Curtis. We pretty much kept it easy this morning, with a couple of strides in there to break-up the boredom, we did 1 mile at marathon pace or close to that (7:59) but the rest were at a comfortable pace, which was just fine with me. My legs have been dead all week and I think it is from the strength training I did on my legs this week, I did it twice and I think it took its toll. It was fun running with my brother Curtis it make the miles just fly by and its good to chat and catch upon the things going on in our lives... Average pace for the entire run was; 8:50 average heart rate was 122 and total time was 2:03:44. For the most part my calf and tibia held up all right, still alittle sore but tolerable.

I am glad it is Saturday, I am ready for some rest tomorrow I'm sure my body is too...
