DNF! Started cramping up at mile 10 and then bowed out on mile 16, I have never not completed a race before, but there was just no way that it was going to happen. My injury didn't really bother me but the lack of training the last couple of months sure took its toll... I don't know what the cramping was all about, I wasn't dehydrated at least it didn't seem that way, but at this point I really don't care. I will be taking a break from running the rest of this month and then I will re-evaluate and see where I go from there, my body really needs a good chance to heal up and then I  will see what I want to do after that... I am a little more bummed than I thought I would be, but I'm sure that will fade with time. I will be taking a break from the blog as well, but I will continue to check in on a few of you from time to time.

My heart is with you man. It's a tough, tough thing. Take it easy this winter, maybe just take the whole thing off, then start up nice and easy in the spring? Winter running stinks anyway.

Soreness is fading and the injuries that I have had seem to be fading with the soreness.

Actually no. Seriously, take alot of time off. I know that actually will be torture, but there's less to be gained in the winter if you run than what you risk --you are risking the chance to 100% heal.

Clay, lion queen as good advice. I would add would more thought, injury may return if you cannot determine the cause? Many injuries are a result of weak supporting structures. Running is very specific. There are many rubber band excercises to work those supporint muscles, tendons, etc. I would recommend a regiment for those supports, starting now.

Ya, I Know. I will be starting some strength training exercises to help get me stronger, especially the quads and the hip and the calves... I have a Bowflex which is resistance training, so I think its time for me to get busy just as soon as I am pain free. I updated my picture on the blog and it for sure tells my said story;-) It really is worth a thousand words, A thousand cus words that is!
