Short-Term Running Goals: Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal. It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :) I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!
Long-Term Running Goals:
Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.
Run for the rest of my life!
Personal: 4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!
Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free! I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front. After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM. Favorite Blogs: |

| | Nice easy Monday. Have to work again *sigh* so I couldn't do all I wanted at the gym, but I also wasn't willing to get up early :) 10 min walking @ 5% to get warmed up, still have some lingering in my legs from the 10 miler Saturday, not pain just regular carry over.
2 miles @ 9:50 on the TM (with a quick potty break thanks to shifting baby!) upper body, core and squats all on the bosu ball 2 miles @ 9:40 on the TM...finished out the full 20 minutes so I got like 2.05 :) bosu ball stuff again. Plan is: 4,6,4,6, off, 10 for the week. I'm not going to increase my miles now - I want to just stay 20-30 each week for the next 10-12 weeks until baby is here!

BBK morning. I was honestly a little sad when I woke up and I didn't have the excuse of the snow to send me back to bed! Just wind, and I couldn't talk myself out of it :( Garmin died after .6 miles, so I'm going off of others. I think I got a bit over 6 in, but I'll call it 6 even. As far as pace goes I'm sure I was somewhere in the neighborhood of 9:20-9:30, on some of the downhills there was a bit of a pick-up, but the uphills were blech! No idea really, just a guess :) I'm glad I got up and out now - but it was hard this morning, I'm SO not a morning person and getting out of the habit for a few months makes it harder to get back to it now. Off to the gym for total body class (she does GREAT resistance), then a little elliptical or bike...haven't decided yet. ***Total body was legs, legs, and more legs - glad I did the miles first! Then I did 6 mile on the recumbent bike at L4 to spin out some of that soreness that will be coming!***

| | Woke up tired. After a nap yesterday and 10 hours last night, I thought I'd feel better - but I was still dragging! Went to Boot camp, which was some kick-boxing and circuits. Tons of core today, it gets harder and harder each week. I'm honestly just happy I can still move and bend! Decided I'd only do one mile on the TM; however, thanks to amazing Kelli I had someone to talk to and before I knew it I had done three and was feeling GREAT! I'd do the 4 I had planned on from the first of the week, even though it would put my day care time over. 3 miles @ 9:50 pace and 1@ 9:30 (did it mostly @ 9:40 then sped up the last .25 and ended running an 8:30...felt GREAT!! YAY!) I was really happy that I felt good when I was finished. I was SO exhausted after yesterday, but feel amazing today. I now am ready to take on the BBK's again tomorrow morning AND it should be warm - hallelujah!!

| | Restless night, weird dreams, stuffy nose...needless to say it was easy to get up this morning, although I was still tired! Met the BBK's at a location infamous for hills, and I wasn't disappointed! Easy warm-up for about 1.5 miles then up and over the Oquirrh Mountain Temple hill three times. So that I wasn't SO far behind as soon as I reached the last person, I'd turn and go back over. I never made it all the way to the bottom, Aaron was nice enough to 'walk' up the hill with me a couple times. When I heard the garmin hit 3 miles I was SO impressed with myself that I had kept the overall AP UNDER a 10mm I just about jumped for joy! It's not an easy hill, and to average out under 10 just seemed like a near miracle. On review, I was actually keeping it around an 11mm on the uphills and I would've thought I was closer to a 12-13mm. We did a couple more loops through the 'hoods and around the park, I ended with 6 even - and alone at the back :( However, this is totally expected when running with this crowd. Those that I can usually keep up with were gone today. AP: 9:37 splits: 9:40, 9:57, 9:57, 9:41, 9:05 (whoo hoo!), 9:21. Now I'm off to yoga - my favorite part of the week, then I'm DONE today....well, except maybe a mid-day nap if Star Wars Wii will babysit for a few minutes :)

| | Good rest last night...off to the gym for 'rest/recovery' day before long run tomorrow. 90 minutes of walking on the TM on 10% grade @ 3mph. Total of 4.5 miles, and some GREAT company the whole time. All right, so here is my invitation: I want to do 10-12 on Porter Rockwell tomorrow at 7AM, is anyone interested in meeting me and shuffling along with the slow pregnant woman? I'd really enjoy some company :)

| | Woke up at 4 this morning...I guess my body is getting used to me waking it at obscene hours on Saturday. Luckily I fell back asleep about 20 minutes later, but I didn't feel nearly as awake when the alarm went off at 6 :( Another night of weird pregnancy dreams - had the baby this time, 15 pounds and I was tired so I fell asleep during the delivery and had to ask the doctor if I got an epidural or not. Oh, and he looked about 8 months old and had 4 teeth :) Dropped gatorade at the end of Porter Rockwell so that I'd have motivation to get to the end, plus I dehydrate a lot faster now and that is one thing I can't let happen now. Was SO happy to see a crowd waiting at the beginning, plus lots of new bloggers to meet and chat with: The amazing Kathie, Coach Slick, Crazy Maynard, Sweet Leslie and Speedy Smoothie. Started out wonderfully, and the uphill gave me a run for my money, but I kept it nice and easy and I appreciate Coach and Maynard hanging with the slow pregnant lady! I had a wonderful visit with them, as we watched the grannies fade off into the horizon. Again about mile 4.5 I was reminded that I am a distance person - I finally started feeling good!! The trip back was downhill and much faster (which with me now still isn't saying much). I could've added a couple more, but decided I was good and would leave those last 2 mystery miles for next week. AP: 9:35 splits: 9:51, 9:57, 9:44, 9:42, 9:28, 9:29, 9:24, 9:20, 9:46, 9:28, 9:18. Party afterward was amazing as usual, plus Kathie showed us some great party tricks which I will now have to learn how to do :) Thanks again for everyone coming to keep me motivated and keep me company! I had a wonderful time and THIS is why I love running - good friends, good running, good food and good fun!!
