Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

blah, blah, blah - another week, oh and did I mention how much I HATE Sunday! I have to run on Monday to get out all the crap that Sunday piles into my brain!!!

Step class - another good one! Kept the HR up the full hour, but she made it tricky too!

5K on the TM: 1st mile @ 9:40 then a potty stop from drinking all my water during/after step. 2nd and 3rd mile: AP: 9:30, then I kept running on the 8:20mm pace for the last .10 until time ran out.

Can't wait to see the Boston reports coming in!! From what I've heard it's all been good news so far - YAY!!

*if anyone knows where to track to see times please share. I'm technologically challenged and don't know where to go :(

BLAH.

I hate Mondays. I even overslept this morning! Sundays are normally nice for relaxing!! Duh!

From Carolyn in Colorado on Mon, Apr 19, 2010 at 16:16:12 from 198.241.174.15

Do you really hate Sundays? Maybe they're just too busy for you and you need to be released and given a more laid back calling.

You are one in-shape pregnant lady.

From RAD on Mon, Apr 19, 2010 at 16:17:53 from 67.172.229.125

KP, typically, I'd agree with you - but yesterday made me a complete mess, and I'm just glad it's over with! NO nap for me yesterday, duty called, and called, and called....

From RAD on Mon, Apr 19, 2010 at 16:20:33 from 67.172.229.125

Carolyn, It was just a particularly hard one. It was all the meetings, confusion, stress and worry AFTER words that caused it all. I constantly submit my name for a simple teaching calling, and tell the Bishop he can just replace me! :) Thankfully though ONE phone call took about 90% of the stress off and between that and a good sweat fest this morning I'm ready to get back at it today.

Hey, I haven’t asked you about volleyball lately. Is the season over for you? Or, do you keep getting net violations because the little one up front is getting in your way while you’re blocking? I haven’t played in a few weeks… trying to let my IT band fully heal. It hasn’t given me any trouble lately, so I’m hoping to maybe play this week. Hopefully!

From RAD on Mon, Apr 19, 2010 at 16:59:18 from 67.172.229.125

KP, I just did substituting for a neighbor of mine a couple weeks. I play with her when I'm not pregnant, but just did the sub this time around. It makes her nervous having me play, because anytime I go for a ball near the ground she panics :)

Didn't know you had ITB issues too...they STINK!!!! I hope you get to play again soon.

Do you hate Sunday's because you pig out or because you can't exercise? I really like Sunday's even if I do pig out. I figure if I'm careful during the week it's okay to pig out on the weekend as long as I exercise the rest of the week.

From Brent on Mon, Apr 19, 2010 at 21:47:11 from 66.7.127.219

Devine, nice recovery from the half, your an animal, tough as nails, with hammer it down.

You are the workout queen! Nice double workout today!

From RAD on Tue, Apr 20, 2010 at 00:22:33 from 67.172.229.125

Nancy, I hated yesterday's Sunday - it was just a crazy jumbled mess of meetings and craziness from the church world. I do however pig out on Sundays too though.

Brent, If I had a hammer....

Toby, I have 90 minutes of free day care time with my membership, so I take advantage of every one of them! Even if I have to sit in a corner and read a magazine! :)

From Michelle on Tue, Apr 20, 2010 at 09:51:57 from 97.122.175.87

Great workout. You are doing amazing at how hard you are still working out with being pregnant! You are a great example for me. I hope you get all of the church worries sorted out.

From The Quiet Pirate on Tue, Apr 20, 2010 at 10:11:37 from 24.199.205.252

Glad you found peace in the running.

I got discouraged with step classes when everyone seemed to know what the teacher was saying/doing except me, and I couldn't get the hang of it.

And remember, whenever you're working something out, the answer is always Jesus...(although this answer doesn't really please my son's Pre-Cal teacher when he uses it in class).

From RAD on Tue, Apr 20, 2010 at 10:14:54 from 67.172.229.125

Thanks Michelle, other than 'normal' crud the big stuff was all worked out!

QP, when people ask what I'm running from I usually tell them my demons :) I laughed SO hard - I can only imagine Little Mister using that one in pre-cal, oh boy!!

From The Quiet Pirate on Tue, Apr 20, 2010 at 10:19:08 from 24.199.205.252

Yeah, the demons seem to find us on a regular basis don't they? I wonder if they come with the DNA, or are a product of our environment? A nice sociology project on nature vs nurture....for someone else to do.

Although sometimes my demons are related to my week-end gluttony.
