Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:


Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Much better on the shin front this morning! Met Cal for a run up Rose Canyon. Again this was a run I haven't attempted in quite some time, always good to conquer those routes!

Nice run, even better company and I'm working on those hills. Veyo is starting to scare me, but I know if I keep plugging along and working on a shorter stride up the hills it'll all turn out okay. I'm not really shooting for a time at SGM, just a finish. I know I'm not in good enough shape to hit a PR or BQ, so I'm just going to run what I feel and do what I can. I just want it to be a GOOD race!

AP: 8:54 splits: 9:26, 9:48, 9:52, 9:13, 8:02, 7:58, 8:04, 8:23 (last .3)

It honestly wasn't as bad as I remembered, which could be a good thing, but it may have also been the fact I had good company to distract me! I was excited to see a sub 8 mile on the return and a sub 9 AP for the run. Onward and Upward! One thing that did catch my attention was that it is only 50ft more elevation gain (total) than my hi-country loop. So, between these two runs I should start getting some good hill work under my belt!

Now off to yoga, my favorite part of the week!! I'm getting into my book now and so I'll probably take a little bike time to read after wards, but it won't even be enough to work up a sweat. Free daycare time! :)

Cal, thanks again for keeping away the mountain lions (or the mental perception they are around every corner). I've gotta work on my speed so I can out run you...just in case we see one :)

It was fun running with you. You seemed to take those hills without too much effort. Nice running today for sure. Seriously, Veyo is overblown - especially for anyone who runs regularly in Herriman. You'll pass a lot of people over that stretch - just wait and see.

KP, I'd like to think so, but when I try to run MP miles for even a short run I die! No way I could do an 8:20 for 26 miles...no way.

Cal, It's probably just fear of the unknown. Kickin' it on the Herriman hills I know I'll be ready for it when it comes, I just hope I can handle the 15 miles that will come afterward :)

Maurine, we would LOVE to join you someday. I could bring him in the jogger and work a little extra up then REALLY enjoy the down :) LMK when you have a plan!

Those are fast pace for going uphill! My uphill pace are in the high 10s. When I run up Suncrest it's in the 12s. Pays to have nice long legs like yours! Seriously, your fitness is incredible!
