Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

I'm pooped! Not enough sleep, I'm tired still from yesterday and then today was zoo day with the Kindergarten. Walking all over the zoo, sack lunches again and then afterward ANOTHER doctors appointment (not for me). At least I'm home now...just floors and kitchen to do.

Hopefully we'll get to the gym tomorrow, but I've got one more doctors appointment (again, not me!); however, that's then it for the day and I can come home and hopefully get something done - BEFORE dinner time! Seriously...I'd like life to slow down for a few minutes and let me relax with everything done.

With all the walking around you've been doing you are going to put yourself into labor. When you're a mother there is always something to do and never much time to relax. The only way I survived 8 kids was that my husband always took me on a date every Friday night and he still does.

I hope you get a break. It sounds like you've got a week of doctor's appointments for various family members. We've been to the dentist every day this week for someone in the family and it will continue tomorrow.

K lady, sounds like it's baby time!!!! Fartlek? Is that the blessed name? Oh dear. Well, I guess it could grow on me.

Walking around Lagoon with a bun in oven doesn't sound too splendid. I hope they did not charge you an entrance fee, that is just not fair.

You were the topic of conversation during the run yesterday. I heard comments like, "How can she run that far along?" or "I would have peed my pants the entire time." I just chuckled.

Are you still spinning and stuff? Next time I want to take a picture if you are going to spin class.

Nancy, I'm afraid nothing puts me into labor except pitocin! :) Craig is good about taking care of me, he even went to Iceberg late last night to get me a shake :)

Carolyn, The breaks are coming - I just need to take advantage of them instead of wasting my time 'relaxing' :)

Becca, Poor kid's gotten dubbed baby Fartlek. If I told Craig I called him that he'd flip :) I actually did go on rides at Lagoon, so I paid the ticket price. I still need to show up one of these mornings - just for fun :)

KP, I'll make you a deal - you come out and babysit/chauffeur for me and I'll relax :)
