Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Decided to take it easy today. Legs are feeling heavy and I want to make sure I have them for Saturday, so I'll take today easy/off and do a few tomorrow then Friday will be an easy reading day at the gym as well.

Went to Boot camp - more legs and arms work...uggghhh. She did have us run our .2 laps outside, so I did get a mile in that way. It's nice to still pull near the front of the crowd while running them :) I think some people try to beat me simply to not let the pregnant lady out run them! I just pick up the pace a little and keep them behind me :)

Then I did the elliptical @ L8 for 30 minutes, pretty easy just to get some more reading done and keep the legs moving. It was a total of 2.0 miles when I finished.

Days like today make me wonder if I really can run Ogden on Saturday, but I know with a couple decent rest days and the excitement of it all will re-energize me...I'm just dragging today.

I have NO clue what you are talking about in reference to the "I can't let the pregnant lady beat me" people. No clue...

You don't "rest" much on rest days, lady...

From allie on Wed, May 12, 2010 at 14:10:34 from 67.177.0.102

you will be fine for ogden. just rest well until then.

From Maurine/Miles on Wed, May 12, 2010 at 14:11:51 from 63.255.172.2

You should do fine in Ogden. Just make sure to keep your body temperature down if it is really hot out so you don't cook the little guy.

KP, you make me laugh! They may think I'm fat and slow, but I still have my pride! :) I guess the rest is from running. I'm also trying to get through a book that is due next week and I won't be able to re-new. It's good to have an excuse to do 'readable' activities at the gym. It's the only time I have all day to myself to get through the book.

Allie, thanks! I'm sure it will be fine, it's just a blah day...maybe it's the middle of the week syndrome!

Maurine, you're right! My doc always simply tells me sunscreen and hydration. Other than that she says I'm fine to run...as long as I don't have contractions. It looks like it MIGHT get a bit warm, but starting in the 40's still seems cold to me :)

your going to do Ogden better than you did SLC 1/2.....Don't sweat the small stuff.

On Saturday the adrenaline will kick in and you'll feel like a new woman, don't worry about it!

From Smooth on Wed, May 12, 2010 at 16:01:10 from 174.23.172.155

SOOOO GLAD you're finally taking an easy day although what you did is still more than what most people do!

From Carolyn in Colorado on Wed, May 12, 2010 at 16:03:40 from 24.8.167.243

I'm not surprised you're dragging with all you do. Take it easy the next couple of days and get that book read.

From josse on Wed, May 12, 2010 at 17:09:58 from 75.231.162.102

I feel your pain, really I do. Are you running the half, if so I will see you up there, we can have our own pregnancy section.

From RAD on Wed, May 12, 2010 at 18:59:54 from 67.172.229.125

Slick, I'm hoping so! When I was sick Th and Fr a couple weeks ago I had the best Sat run I'd had in a LONG time. I'm trying to keep that in mind - rest! It's just not really my style...

MrsFIT, surrounded by SO many other people can't help but keep me going, right? PLUS I'll have some good friends to keep me company too!

Smooth, I guess I feel too much guilt about getting FAT and not just pregnant when I take it too easy - I rationalize eating food too much!

Carolyn, I think I will take that advice!! sleeping and reading - I'll just have to find a way to stop eating like a pig :)

Josse, I'm glad you can sympathize! Yes! I'll be running the 1/2, I'm hoping to catch up with Luz and run a fun one with her, is there somewhere we can all meet before hand? I'll have my cell (yup, paranoid pregnant runner) and I'd be happy to call to meet up anywhere!

From Brent on Wed, May 12, 2010 at 23:50:16 from 168.178.30.194

Devine Miss M - Queen Josse - am I going to be chicked by two pregnant ladies in the half, I am scared, how many negative commando points will that cost me? Hey, your easy day is a hard day for most.

Stay Kool, B of BS Rools out

From RAD on Thu, May 13, 2010 at 00:02:03 from 67.172.229.125

Brent, we'll have to watch for each other - I certainly wouldn't mind making it even (or trying to keep up) and just enjoying your company for a couple hour jaunt down the mountain!

From josse on Thu, May 13, 2010 at 12:40:30 from 75.220.198.232

Oh come Brent you can stay up, I will make you;)
