Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Met the BBK's along the JRP. Weather was perfect and a little warm at my house, but when I got there the wind had taken over the river bottoms! YUCK! It was nice to take it easy and just chat with Leslie. Everyone else took off and were out of sight quickly, so in fear of danger (and foxes) we stuck together! I think the lead group got an extra couple miles just turning around trying to 're-group' with us :)

I've decided to sleep in and do normal miles, then do extra if I desire afterward (I have 45 min after group ends to get home).  That way I get my sleep and miles too! Today Debbie finished the last couple with me and on the way back we had a 9:30 mile that felt like it should've been under 8 due to running into the wind!!!

AP: 9:11 splits: 9:19, 9:28, 9:06, 8:57, 8:49, 8:51, 9:26, 9:34

Now I get to head off to yoga and zumba!! Then this afternoon I'll venture North to the Dinosaur Museum in Ogden, the children have been looking forward to it for a long time!

Nice run today... I hate running into the wind!!

Have fun at the dinosaur park... it was decorated so cute for Halloween... tombstones and bones all over. I don't know if it's still decorated though. Your kids should have a fun time.

I'm thinking that your wind must have been worse than mine this morning.

I think your sleep in and with optional extra miles later is a good one.

Have fun with the kids today!

Sounds like a great run. Easy miles are enjoyable because you get to appreciate the things around you a little more (like friends, the sunrise, the moon, the little critters, etc.)

Your wind sounds like a bugga.

Hope you have a great time a yoga & Zumba. I'm sure some extra sleep will be good for you. I think almost all of us go around sleep deprived most of the time....it's a "blessing" of motherhood.

Great run. Sweet mom.

Devine Miss M - they call the wind Mariah, paint your wagon, love the wind, builds strength and determination. Nice run, did you wear the clown costume?

Rachel, when I had kids, I had no energy for me, you are SO smart to run, Zumba and Yoga, taking care of yourself should be a priority, I didn't learn that until my kids were gone. I wonder what you young moms will do when you have an empty nest, you will go CRAZY! ( in a good way!) Have fun at the Dinosaur Museum!!!!

See you Sat!

Good job on your run.

I'd be more worried about the skunks rather than the foxes...

Great job running. Leslie enjoyed visiting with you also.

WOW! NICE run and SO glad you got to sleep in. You are so AWESOME to take your kids to the dinosaur museum. I need some of your energy!

From RAD on Fri, Nov 06, 2009 at 14:40:20 from 76.27.12.70

Lori, the museum was great. I didn't realize that the marathon had run right by it!! I ought to pay more attention next year :)

Carolyn, it's the Riverton river bottoms...they are ALWAYS windy!

QP- I think I've had plenty of those 'blessings'!

Thanks Bec, it was nice!

Brent, the wig would've blown off...left it at home today :)

Leslie, sometimes I feel like I take too much time to myself!

Cal, you're right! I'm glad I didn't think about them.

Nancy, I look forward to seeing Leslie on Tuesday again! We seem to keep similar paces lately.

Smooth, the parks are always nice, because the kids get out their energy while you sit and watch - its a secret mommy trick :)
