Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Another BBK day...however, due to the personal training making me SO sore, I felt every step today. The 10mm 3-mile warm up had me breathing hard and finished this morning! Then we ran out to the Oquirrh Mtn temple hill and ran up and down then back twice. That hill doesn't seem too bad, until with dead legs you attempt to run up it! Ran about a mile back, then ran up 10400S to the end and back - about 2 miles. Again...a long steady good hill, but the downhill went quickly :) Then I finished up with 1.5 of cool-down miles with Debbie. AP: 8:49 splits: 10:03, 9:19, 8:32, 8:52, 8:23, 8:20, 9:09, 7:58, 8:40, 8:54 -Kept the pace going in the right direction until the mile up 104 :)

Came home got the kiddos off to school then headed to Yoga. We had a rough morning with the Kindergartner so I was later than late, but didn't want to totally bag it. Missed final relaxation so I was awake enough for the personal training group again today. Thankfully, we did all arms and core today...my legs are trashed! Finished up with 2.5 miles on the bike. Now off to another busy day, I hope I get it all done without falling asleep!

WOW GIRL! Great workout, and I really meant to be there. I didn't know where 101 st. south was, that was a little confusing. 10 miles? AW, I have got to get out the door and find a TM! Thank you for motivating me!

Well, your 3 mile warm up was not all at 10mm. Each of those 3 miles was considerably faster than the one before. No wonder you were breathing hard at the end of the warm up!

You and I both might fall asleep today.

Wow, your run and workout made me tired just reading it and on top of it all the busy family stuff. Take it easy this afternoon, will ya? Hope you get a nap in.

i feel horrible for asking you this AGAIN, but i can't keep track (i can only handle one brain function at a time)... are you running TOU?

From Shelly on Thu, Aug 27, 2009 at 23:46:01 from 24.10.160.70

Awesome work! You are getting so strong. I can't believe all that you do.

Good Luck with the kindergartner- mine loves it- but I know some struggle.

Nicely done, again. Take a day off, would ya? You are making me look bad. LOL

From Kelli on Fri, Aug 28, 2009 at 13:00:35 from 71.219.64.200

We did not get to talk much during that pain session, but I am so glad to hear that your legs were trashed---I thought it was just me!!!!! My butt hurt so bad it was hard too move. I was so grateful for only arms.

KILLER workout! I am going t live vicariously through you. I ALMOST got up to come to group, but changed my mind at the sight of 4:xx on the clock. I have gotten too used to sleeping in!!

OKAY, call me later to let me know what time we leave! Where are we going to dinner? I am buying!!!

From Brent on Fri, Aug 28, 2009 at 13:42:33 from 76.8.201.223

Devine, a day off may do the body good. No doubt, without Gwen, you are in great shape, a couple of easy days after a day off? There are no workouts you can do before the half that would help at this point, only getting your legs feeling better will help.

Stay Kool, B of BS Rools out

Bec, I missed you! Still waiting for those stories. Call me if you ever need directions!

Carolyn, no rest for the wicked. I was up till 11:30 (eating cookies of course :) )

Smooth, Thanks, it's been hard and I miss my hours (yes...hours) blogging. However, family crud isn't suffering as much!

Nancy, final push to TOU full...no SGM for me :(

Allie, thanks! Yes, I'll be at TOU...probably at least a good hour behind you trying not to think about the pain in my ITB's!

Shelly, he's doing great with Kindergarten, well, AT school...it's the rest of life he can't deal with right now! :)

Dale, you're doing great...blame it all on the knee :)

Kelli, I'm so excited for tonight/tomorrow! Races are always so much better with friends! hmmmm...dinner? I'm thinking some good carb loading will be taking place :)

Brent, I'm doing okay and I'm not racing the 1/2 - it'll be an easy one. My friend is running it as her 1st and I'm going to be there to coach/push/drag her along. I'm just running her 9-9:30 pace, but I think she can finish in under 2 hrs with a little push from me :) thanks though, I'd love a day off...just can't mentally let myself do it. If I stop running I'd have to stop eating :)

You are hard core with the personal trainer and 10 mile speedy run the week after a marathon. Anyone who doesn't blog here would not believe the strength, endurance, and insanity. You are a rock.

From Kelli on Fri, Aug 28, 2009 at 16:50:55 from 71.219.64.200

I am thinking we better eat before we leave, or we will not make it in time. Maybe we can just get ice cream after our packet pick-up (this is a Kelli pre race nigh tradition). And then I can buy you lunch tomorrow???
