Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Thank you Becca! I don't think I would've run at all today if it wasn't for you!!! My poor legs are just trashed from that Suncrest run and NO yoga! I need to stretch, roll, stretch and roll some more. Lead legs would be an understatement for this run, poor Becca had to go slow for me the whole run. Decent pace for how I was feeling though. It was a nice cool (but stinky) morning on the Lehi JRP, and getting a few minutes with Smooth was amazing as well! I'm glad we started early, but we'll see if my eyes can stay open till bedtime :)

Definately need some new shoes (both pair over 400 miles now! and balls of my feet and ankles were sore at the end of the run), so I'm off to explore some options - I need a stability shoe, anyone have any good suggestions? I always go and get fitted for what the store thinks is good for me, haven't found one I'm in love with yet. Well, I always love new shoes and I've never had a BAD one, just not one I want to repeat buy...I guess I'm just exploring all my options before I settle down :)

I LOVED today's run. It reminded me why I love to run, I am serious! It felt so good to get those beat up legs moving on that trail. Thank you so much for meeting today and running that stinky course. There were a variety of scents...the horse mess all over, the cows in their pastures, the bacon, me, and the strange smell of the river.

You did not hold me back today, that run was PERFECT, and I can't wait to do it again. Good conversation as well.

I'd do it again in a heartbeat....maybe not today or tomorrow, but soon! My poor achin' legs!! I'm trying to walk/stretch them out, but they DO NOT like me today :)

I think we could write a whole report about the lovely sights and smells today *hehehe*

Was I one of the stinkies? :) You girls were looking fast, strong and so so so cute in your skirts. Sorry about the lead legs. I LOVE my Mizuno Inspire. It is a stability shoes. I need a new pair too and am watching on ebay and Runningwarehouse with no luck. Hope you find a pair you love soon so your legs and feet will love you again. GREAT 14 miler and AWESOME pace!!!

Yes, we could write a report on random smells of runs, there are way too many.

Get those legs rested up, we've got to climb Suncrest again! For the long run next Saturday... Run around the point, up Suncrest the Lehi side and down the Draper side? I think we should do it!

From Bec on Sat, Jul 18, 2009 at 17:25:15 from 67.177.35.60

Yes Smooth, you were a stinky. WHATEVER! You were a breath of fresh air! Mizuno Inspire is a great stability shoe, 2140 asics, there are so many more... Come to the store for the FIT process on Monday or Tuesday before 2.

I'm beginning to think I will never be able to run that far again. Six miles kills me now. Rachel we have plenty of beets. If you would like me to I can bring you some to running group on Tuesday.

From RAD on Sat, Jul 18, 2009 at 21:36:15 from 67.166.99.8

Smooth, definitely NOT you stinkin'! You were one of the sweetest things we got to pass! :)

Bec, are you kidding? Suncrest next weekend? hmmm....maybe I'll have to see how DesNews 10K goes - I might actually be game! (I MUST be crazy to even be entertaining that idea the way my legs feel right now!! :) )

Oh, and I'll be in! I was TOO tired this afternoon, plus I had the baby and Craig took my car with the car seat.

Nancy, I would LOVE some beets and beet greens if you have them to spare -YUMMY!

Allie, If you ever want a good smells run do the Lehi JRP; you get it all! poo, cows, the river, bacon from breakfast camping, then the POP if you need it! :)

Rachel, what a fun day with friends. I can not believe you want to torture yourself with Suncrest again!!! You are an animal.

Hey, I'm running up and down the beach thinking about you! I forgot how you are from South Carolina. I can't remember the SC connection. But I'm having fun out here. Did you like running at sea level? People say it's so much easier. I'm not convinced. Great job on the 14 miles. Enjoy the new shoes!

From RAD on Mon, Jul 20, 2009 at 23:33:02 from 67.166.99.8

Leslie, I think I must be crazy! :)

Thanks Merri and Carolyn!

Smooth, how did you know that's what I got? Did a little bec...uh, I mean bird tell you? :)

Luz, My sister lives in NC, we drove to and ran Myrtle Beach together. I think running at sea-level is overrated!

Devine Miss M - shoe trouble, worry - my take on shoes, if you find a good pair, mizuno - wave riders - there are cheaper ways to buy shoes than at a running store when you find ones that work for you. Road Runner sports - VIP member, they have promotions - just bought Sylvie 2 pair of wave riders for $75 each. Good luck.
