Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

I'm emotionally drained. I had a crappy night last night and am on a hangover this morning. If my day wasn't so busy I'd have kept sleeping and not run, but I knew if I didn't get up and get it done it wouldn't happen. So, I got there...what else do you want from me? :)

George, Chad and Ronnie were there for our Tuesday Ten. George kept me company and held back for the first couple miles, then at the top of the hill Chad drew the short straw and had to hang with me the rest of the way. George and Ronnie busted a move home. I'm serious, they were GONE. I guess I'm just lazy, but I don't like to kill it on group runs. I'm good just enjoying the run and chat. Crazy and unexpected I'm sure. Maybe if I challenged myself on runs like that more I'd be able to actually improve my times. Oh well.

AP: 8:23, splits: 8:26, 8:19, 9:16, 9:33, 8:21, 8:25, 8:04, 7:53, 7:44, 7:52, 7:37 (last .1)

Went home and tried to warm up, but I knew I couldn't go back to sleep. Just as I got warm and cozy it was time to get kiddos up for Moms and Muffins. Which I wasn't excited about. I've waited and waited, because they've done dads and donuts, but never moms and muffins. But, I'm on such a bad hangover I didn't want to and I was grumpy. We read some Aesops Fables and had some sugary pastries for breakfast and everyone (other than me) seemed happy, so we will count it a success.

Got to the gym early thanks to the before school activity and spin class was certainly not one to miss today! In the 60 minutes I was on the bike I got 19.5 miles in, so with all the climbing she had us do, I was impressed with myself. She had us got to anaerobic threshold for as long as we could and maybe I just don't understand, but I was at a point where my legs were burning and I was breathing as hard as I could, but I sure as heck wasn't going to say I was there and couldn't handle more. I'd stick it out! Is it just my pride or should my heart/lungs give out before my legs in that situation? Hmmm, not sure...just throwing it out there.

Hey, there were no short straws drawn. I gladly hung back. BTW how is the back?

Back isn't too bad. I worked hard over the weekend stretching it. I can now move side to side with no pain and I only get jolts of pain occasionally...after I sit too long :)

Someday I'll be able to keep up on these run so that no one HAS to slow down with me...someday. I just need to change my perception of group runs.

I prefer just working to my "Puke" threshold! :) they must be closely related.

It was about a year ago that you and I ran the 16 miler UP Emigration Canyon last year. I still tell people about that adventure (at least it was one for me!!). You have become such a talented runner. You have exploded this past year with awesomeness. I'm so excited about Boston for you. YOU DESERVE every bit of its greatness.

Hopefully you got a good nights sleep and feeling back on your game :)

Wow it sounds like you are as good at biking as you are at running. Great job.

I can't get the phrase 'Mommies and Muffins' out of my mind. I just see 'mommy's muffin' in my brain. GGAAKK.

Hope you're feeling better and up on top again soon.

Tired and still getting up way before I do and I am an hour ahead of you. Then pulling a really great 10 with the men, and then crazy killer spin. Guess you haven't blogged in a few days because you are recovering from all of this or maybe you died and I haven't heard? Don't know... Just feel better.

No grinding in the kitchen. ;)

QP has a good point- Maybe they should do a mommies and muesli morning instead. Hope you can catch up on some rest and get feeling better soon. Hangovers aren't good for athletes :)
