Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Back to back spin classes. 7 & 8, had to take a short break half way through the first class to run down and get a pass for the 8 class, but other than that was on the bike the whole time. Not a bad ride. Nice sweaty mess.

I really liked the 2nd teacher - so far my favorite there! But, she giggles...A LOT! Kind of crazy, but she is a good teacher so I'll keep coming :)

Now off to the weekend of - same as every other day in my life this last week and next week until my husband finally comes home. A mother's work is never done.

Was a little jealous I didn't get to run in the snow this morning - would've been a nice run, not slippery just slushy and lightly falling...nearly perfect.

2 spin classes? I would say that qualifies as a lot of mile and a hard core workout. I have been thinking about you lately.

About the MMGW...I gave one of the wimpy girls here the workout (yes, I know I mean for calling her a wimp, you would agree). She made it to the first set of 5% and called it a day. Grrrr, that is how it is around here. She also told me it was good for me to miss the upcoming 5k so I could give someone else a chance to win... REALLLLLLLYYYYYY??????? That made me really ticked!

TWO FREAKIN spin classes!!!! I bet if your foot was better you would have run 10 miles after (at a ridiculous fast pace too)! You aren't loosing any fitness - that is for sure :)

You are funny! Way to hit those two spin classes!! :)

Becca, I think that maybe you should just stop running altogether. I mean that way, the whole world would then have a chance to catch up to you. THEN you can go on persuing your own goals and dreams...yeah, thats it. duh. what a stinker. You ought to bring her out here to a race so that she can see that there are other people who run fast too, and that she is a slacker :)

Toby, I'd like to think my fitness is staying up. I want my body to be ready to run when this bone is healed! I'm not waiting around!!! If my foot was healed I probably would've just done one class before the 10 miles :) This is actually the longest I've ever been on a bike at one time. There are 3 other days/week they teach back to back classes...I think I may try them next week :)

Teena, you would've been SO proud of me today - the teacher had us in a hard climb and he said "c'mon lets tackle the mountain!" I started thinking about those xterra championships and those nasty hills that those near professionals were having to walk up. I pushed a little harder and yelled out "XTERRA!" got a little chuckle from some people :) I can't wait to see you tackle the xterra! You're gonna rock it!

Thanks for your uplifting words on the blog. Maybe I should just stop running, that is a great idea! No, thank you for your thoughts, that made me laugh. Sometimes I just get really upset with people. That girl is a fat girl in a skinny body that hasn't ever had to work for her looks... Plus she's 20 and naive, she doesn't understand my motives yet.

Anyway, if I were there, I would X train with you because I miss our time together. I will still consider running with a blue tooth if you would do the same. ;)

I couldn't make it through one spin class let alone two. Way to stay in shape.

back to back spin classes? You are hardcore!!

From RAD on Mon, Jan 09, 2012 at 14:29:38 from 98.202.23.178

Becca, it will all workout! and yes, of course I'd take a bluetooth run/bike with you :)

Nancy, the break was nice!

Rachelle, had to get in 2 hrs of cardio to simulate 13-15 miles...this must become a regular part of life for me if I want to still have a shot at Ogden in May!
