Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Today has been a mix of ups and downs. I did Lisa's body building class and my normal hour with Mike (my trainer), so I felt really good about my workout even though no 'mileage' was clocked. Then, I got a great lunch date with Steph at Chick-fil-a. A great healthy meal inspite of the small fry and few licks of icecream that I had. However, this is where the good ends and my stress starts. Stupid phones! My cell phone decided to stop working this morning so I thought it wouldn't be a big deal since it was under warranty to get it replaced. Boy was I wrong, long story short after an hour and a half of running from Herriman to West Jordan and all around twice including waiting in who knows how many lines for who knows how long I finally found out that no one in the state of Utah had my replacement phone and that I could get it "overnighted" and recieve it by Tuesday or Wednesday. HMMM?!? Is this confusing anyone else? Well, with the stress of that and trying to get ready for Lauren's baptism in the morning I got home and had to have a piece of chocolate and instead of making my chicken and veggies like I was planning scarfed down a belgin waffle with syrup....MMMM! So, I guess I'll start again tomorrow. I also will try to run evening at the oval if anyone is interested.....anyone, anyone, anyone?

Rachel,

Great to see you on the blog. Thanks for coming and running with us on Thursday. There were a total of three at the oval this morning. The numbers were few but it was good fun and the time went by fast.

Speaking of Chick-Fil_A, have you ever had the wraps? They seem to have some good food there.

Welcome to the blog! Good to see more runners near me on here!

Rachel, I hope the baptism went well. My nephew was baptized this morning, too. I could not believe how fast they pushed every one through, they are like a well-oiled machine. It was good because I was afraid we would have to miss part of it as we only had 1 hour!!!

When you train with Mike, you can not run. Your legs are like jell-o! Why do you think I quite??? (That and the $$$$).

Okay, so I obviously got home too late ti run, plus I am too full right now (and still contemplating some more ice cream). I am emotionally drained, so a run might have been nice.

I WILL see you on Monday for sure! I will be in class bright and early (after trying to squeeze in 1.5 before the class starts!) I will not ditch you, I will be there!!!
