Ran the Speedy Spaniard route today with Lynsey and Lily. And we stayed true to the course name and were very speedy. Avg pace 7.31. Fastest mile was #4 at 7.19. I like that course and if you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it.
The run felt really good for me today. I think it was a combo of the cooler temps at 5am and I had a half of a bananna and some gatorade before we left. Normally I don't eat anything before a run.

| I was lazy today :) I'm pushing my 2 kids in the stroller tomorrow for the Freedom Run 10k so that should make up for today. My husband is running the 10k tomorrow as well. It's his first race ever!!! I'm nervous for him! Good Luck tomorrow FAST RUNNING BLOGGERS!!!!

Happy 4th of July!!! I ran the Freedom Run course today pushing the kiddos in the stroller. Our original plan was for me just to run next to Wes the entire time. Too bad strollers had to start in the very very very back. Ran by myself until I saw Dave Hill (not sure on last name) at mile 2.5 and ran with him until I found Wes at mile 5.5 :) It was a nice distraction to talk to someone. I think we were going at a pretty good pace too. So my time with the stroller was around 55 minutes. What a blast!!! Wes' time on his watch said 53:42. Not too shabby for his first 10k race!
Way to go Wes & Leandra!!! Our neighbors Chad and Larry ran as well. And Lynsey did the 5k I can't wait to hear how she did! Carson, Wes & Kamrie
Leandra & Kamrie Chad, Larry, Leandra, Merri, Wes Mile 1 - Uphill and hard w/ the stroller. I think it was an 11 min mile or slower. Kept thinking it might have been a mistake to take the stroller. And I started way back in the back of the pack so weaving in an out was impossible.
Mile 2 - AWESOME down hill, the weight of the kids literally pulled me down.
Mile 3 - Met up w/ Dave ran along the parade route Mile 4 - Feeling ok, conversation w/ Dave was great Mile 5 - Still feeling ok, huffing and puffing a little Mile 6 - uphill not fun, Dave pushed a little for me and then ran w/ Wes, stopped and my neighbor chad took the stroller and I ran w/ Wes almost to the finish, then I turned around found chad and pushed the kids to find Wes & the gang!

10 minutes on the bike and lifted arms, did some abs and legs. I miss the old gym, it's been a while since I have been there to see my morning workout family :) I haven't been to Tae Bo in FOREVER, I think it's time to go back.

| lets just say I was glad I did 3. I set the alarm so I could get up and run to the gym and go to tae bo. Carson woke me up in the night and when the alarm went off I was too tired. Snoozed and woke up at 7, so I barely had time for 3. We are hiking Timp tomorrow morning though so maybe it's best I save my leggies. :) So Lynsey I wont be here tomorrow morning for our run. :( sorry.

hiked timp, more to come later
It's a 7 mile hike to the peak and at mile 5.5 I may have had a small
panic attack. Or a large one I'm not sure. Anyway the trail was covered
with snow. So you kind of had to find your own way. So we started up
and I got to a point where I didn't feel like I could go forward or
backward and I thought for sure I was going to slide to my death. But
somehow I got control and made it to the saddle.
From the saddle it's less than 1 mile to the peak where the little
shack his, but I think Wes knew I was ready to go so he said this was
close enough for him. I feel bad now b/c he's never been to the top,
but I was really nervous about how I was going to get down. So total we hiked 12 miles. It took us 3 hours to get up and 2.5 to get
back down. It was fun times, but I don't think I will hike it again
until end of August when the snow is probably gone.

Well last night was probably the worst nights sleep I have ever had before a race. My poor little boy woke up at 12:30 with the worst fever I have ever seen him with. I stayed in his room from 12:30 - 2:30 and my husband picked up the 2:30 - 4:30 shift. :( poor kid. He drank a whole gatorade bottle. I think he was really dehydrated. I woke Wes up to see if he wanted to go, he said no, so I left with my sister Leandra and my neighbors Chad & Larry. Wes called 10 minutes later said he couldn't go back to sleep and he was coming! I did a small warm up, but not much. I started w/ Lily & Lynsey. I saw Mary & Kyle Q., Kerri C. and Melody W. from our ward at the start as well.
Mile Splits: 1 - 7.21 2 - 6.39 3 - 6.46 4 - 6.59 5 - 7.01 6 - 6.54 Overall I am very pleased with my time. My goal was nothing over 7.30. Mile 1 is slower than I would have liked, but the rest was good. I met Kellies and Kelli at the finish line. Nice to meet you girls. I saw Tyler S as well, but didn't get a chance to talk to him.
Then my daughter Kamrie ran in the 1 mile race. She did so good! A 12:30 mile for a 5 year old! So proud of her. Wes did awesome today as well. His time was 50 and some change. :) Good job all of you runners and bloggers!!! I can't wait to read everyone's race reports. I won 18 holes of golf today during the raffle too. That was cool...for my husband :).

| Got up at 5:30 went to meet Lynsey, didn't see her and it was not a hard decision for me to decide to go back to bed. My training schedule has a cross training day for today anyway, so I don't feel too bad. I've been up late all week, but new goal is in bed by 9:30! I have a really good friend that lives in Logan and she's offered me to stay at her house if I run the TOU. Her husband is from Italy and she also volunteered him to make me some yummy pasta for my carbo loading :). So I better get doing my long runs. |
