Today was supposed to be a cross-training day or a rest day but I couldn't resist the low Dew Point and decided to go out and Just Run. It turned out to be a "Fast Finish Something??? Run". I just ran as I felt like running.

The dew point was 55, temp 66 and humidity 72%. This is much better conditions than I've got to run in for quit a while! WoooHooo...

The 4th mile (100' rise) was slow because of the hill and the last mile (60' rise) was fast because of the effort.

I hadn't checked in for a while and was wondering how your marathon training was going. Wowzers! You're doing great. Love the interval training, and I agree with everyone else. You should get a great 5K time. Maybe you can keep with the allie plan and run a fast 5K the weekend before your marathon. It seems to be a great confidence booster and predictive tool.

It kinda looks like you have stubs in this picture.

That last mile is fantastic, good job, that's hard to do after 10 miles.

Great fast finish mile uphill ... that is when you know you are enjoying your run!

Russ,

This training cycle is really just a fill-in waiting for the "real" Boston training. I haven't really set any goals for the SA Marathon yet. Obviously I would like to break my current PR but beyond that I have nothing in mind. I think the October Half will really tell me what I can do in the Full. I am going to keep my eye out for a 5K to run in the near future too. :-)

Burt,

I do have stubs...are you making fun of me? Good to hear from you!

Thanks Flat.

I did not know you were running SA ... I can't believe YOU don't have a time goal for it! Here, let me help you, you need a minimum of 3:18 to have a chance to get slotted in the first wave at Boston ... and you are definitely capable of that ... so there you have it ... Good luck! :)

From Burt on Thu, Sep 26, 2013 at 10:54:19 from 71.216.109.214

There's nothing wrong with stubs. That's what my wife tells me. What? Did somebody say something?

From I Just Run on Thu, Sep 26, 2013 at 11:04:56 from 67.79.11.242

Thanks JG! I was thinking, in the back of my mind 2:20, but what's a couple of minutes in a marathon. :-) Actually, I'm more concerned about the weather conditions in SA. It could be almost anything on race day. If the weather is good I will push it, if it is bad I may just run the race like a training run.

Burt,

Your such a jokester. :-)

From JG on Thu, Sep 26, 2013 at 11:09:44 from 99.141.151.28

Why would you target 2:20 when sub 2:18 gets you the Olympic qualifying standard?

From I Just Run on Thu, Sep 26, 2013 at 11:14:19 from 166.147.72.27

Oops :-)
