Hi Tom,

I just realized, when you asked about it, that I never finished the race report for the Hootenanny 10K. Basically I was feeling very flat before that race and between it and the Chosen Half. Since then I feel like I have snapped out of the funk and had some really good runs. It seemed my body was rebelling and not wanting to run fast. but with the last two good 20 milers and the two fastest miles ever the other day, I'm feeling pretty good now. Thanks for asking. :-)

Yes I am planning to run the CIM...wanta go? :-) It feels a little lonely since I'm going out there by myself with no support (What was I thinking?). Planning to book my air tomorrow. Any suggestions for my trip?

Hmmm... go run a marathon on a 12 mile long run - well, I am sure I could do it, oh wait, I'll be in Sydney - whew! :-) :-)

Do you know where you are staying? I can see if there are any runners from my group going, usually there's a pretty good sized group.

The course is fast, but not as flat as they make it out to be. So be mentally prepared for some rollers along the first half. Nothing close to Boston or Austin, but don't go in expecting all flat roads.

Somewhere shortly after the half it becomes flat all the way into town. These are the miles to dial into your pace - you don't have to worry about any turns, etc.

When you get to the outskirts of town you will still be a ways out, keep your eyes straight ahead or look at the ground in front, looking at the numbered streets may get discouraging, so better not to go there.

It can be a very fast course if the weather is perfect, and it for the most part is. If you run it correctly you will run a negative split.
