Cross-Training Today - Gym Workout:

11/11/2011
Gym workout:
1 mile Elliptical
Stretch
1 mile Elliptical
Weights
1 mile Elliptical
Weights
1 mile Elliptical
Weights
1 mile Elliptical
Total Elliptical: 5

I just decided to mix it up a little and do rotate from the ellipitical to the weight work. It was kinda nice to do something different. I felt really good after the workout :-)

Tomorrow's RLRF program has me running 13 miles @ 7:56 pace. This should be a piece of cake. I may go ahead and bike about 30 miles afterwards since I missed a day of biking this week.

Psalm 73:1

No doubt about it! God is good— good to good people, good to the good-hearted. But I nearly missed it, missed seeing his goodness. I was looking the other way, looking up to the people At the top, envying the wicked who have it made, Who have nothing to worry about, not a care in the whole wide world.

1 mile of weights...my head is about to explode trying to figure that one out. Have a good run tomorrow!

Ha ha...I'll correct that :-)

From I Just Run on Fri, Nov 11, 2011 at 11:55:49 from 67.79.11.242

Now I feel much better!

From JG on Fri, Nov 11, 2011 at 12:54:41 from 71.59.27.33

I was till trying to figure out how to stretch for a mile! I like the way you mixed it up & got some elliptical cardio with no pounding on the joints. I have never been able to do elliptical, I feel so awkward on those things, but I know they give you a good aerobic workout.

Maybe you should bike tomorrow & go run the San Antonio Half as a bandit & just duck out at 13 miles ... you could pace DH the first half mile! :)

From I Just Run on Fri, Nov 11, 2011 at 14:25:34 from 67.79.11.242

I was thinking about doing the bandit thing...but then I figured someone would catch me and I'd get in trouble. I might be able to pace DH for the first 20 yards if he was looking away when the gun went off :-)

Piece of cake!?! Lucky!! I think I would have to be running 12 min miles to finish a half marathon! Just got my book from Amazon yesterday on running faster. I like your workout today....looks kinda fun! I hope your run goes well tomorrow with no hip pain!

From I Just Run on Fri, Nov 11, 2011 at 14:46:23 from 67.79.11.242

Steam,

Sorry, didn't mean to make it sound so good :-) I should have said "Piece of cake, but really boring!"

Let me know what you think about the book. I'm still a little confused about some of the information. I've read the whole thing and continually am going back to try and figure out what they are trying to say or suggest. I can tell you, so far, I feel much better overall. Physically and mentally I'm excited to jump into the next workout. I can remember back when I was physically sore most of the time and mentally tired but with determination I kept doing what I thought was right. I still question the aerobic fitness in regards to this program but so far its proven good by my latest race. I really didn't think I would perform as well as I did.

I sure hope you can glean something good out of the book!

Good luck with the run Saturday. I have been browsing through the book also and find it interesting.

I think the mental boost you are getting from this program is valuable. Can't say I get that from mine, it's mostly a grind.
