Workout # 11 on the RLRF Program:

Today was a Tempo Run so I ran my small loop. As you can see I hit or beat the workout pace of 7:00 on all but one of the Tempo miles. This mile is 100' steady incline so it's a little tougher than the others. My final pace is basiclly the same as my best and only 5 mile race. It will be interesting in 2-3 weeks when I have to run 5 & 6 miles at 7:00 pace. Today I'm not sure I could have gone 6 miles at this pace. My legs are still doing fine, it's my aerobic that is still struggling.

On a side note, I've been in heavy roping practice the last few days to get prepared for the big finals in Las Vegas next week.

Announce this to the godless nations: Prepare for battle! Soldiers at attention! Present arms! Advance! Turn your shovels into swords, turn your hoes into spears. Let the weak one throw out his chest and say, "I'm tough, I'm a fighter." Hurry up, pagans! Wherever you are, get a move on! Get your act together. Prepare to be shattered by God!

Nice job hitting your target paces! Are you racing White Rock this weekend?

From flatlander on Thu, Dec 01, 2011 at 13:29:20 from 64.129.54.210

Good job there. Today my legs were tired even though my heart rate was relatively low, so I think my problem might be the opposite.

Be sure to post an LV race report!

JG,

I'm bailing on the White Rock this weekend. I made the plan believing that my daughter (Callie) was going to be running. Things didn't work out for her so I decided not to go and spend the gas, hotel and time even though I'm already entered. It's about a 4 hour drive and I don't want to try and make it a single day event. This race was really just a fill-in fun run for me anyway. Also I've been concentrating on preparation and practice for my big team roping finals next week in Las Vegas. I leave Monday and need to take care of home things before then. I decided to just go ahead and mark down a 1:33:30 for my race time and call it good :-)

Great paces for the hilly terrain. We definitely don't have hills like that in Abilene. It takes a few miles before you can gain or lose 100'. Good run.

Wow..nice miles, nice pace! I need some of your motivation. I have ZERO! ha!

Good luck next week!

Nice run! Those are some good sized hills.

Nice workout! I noticed that you gave us a list of your attire. With all those nicely paced miles you must have had your Redsox shirt on. Works for me, I just ran a 4:05 mile with mine. Maybe need to add a mInute or two........ Good luck with the roping.

From I Just Run on Fri, Dec 02, 2011 at 10:25:01 from 67.79.11.242

Hey Steam, you have plenty of motivation..."life" just gets in the way sometimes:-)

Thanks Dave & Rye,

Rye, I was wondering if anyone would comment on my attire. I've had a hard time figuring out what to wear in different weather conditions so I thought I'd just put it in my report so next time it's 40 degrees I'll know exactly what to wear. Sounds kinda dumb now that I re-read it and write this :-)

Thanks on the roping...it will be a really tough competition.
