Ran the loop today as a Recovery run. I was a little sore after the run yesterday but not really stiff. My feet were really tired feeling all yesterday but good this morning. I did this same run about three months ago and averaged 8:38 & 138bpm HR but it was 38 degrees so I'm happy with where I am considering the heat today. Tomorrow will be another 12 miler.

You are getting some good mileage in ... and no mention of some of the injuries you have been battling ... Yea! Have you considered getting you wife flowers or a diamond ring, so you can BQ at TOU?

From I Just Run on Wed, Jun 08, 2011 at 12:40:58 from 67.79.11.242

I'm feeling much better, no real pains (just the usual soreness of running). I was just thinking about that this morning as I ran. The flowers and the diamond ring are a great idea :-)

12 yesterday and 8 today....you are in great shape!

Is the diamond ring and flowers to coax your wife into letting you come to Utah to race? hahaha! You should bring her with you. It is beautiful here! I think you better do it! Boston is within your reach. If you ran TOU would you qualify for 2012 or 2013? I know the cut off date for 2012 is somewhere around that date.

I'm running St. George in October and I am hoping to BQ again for 2013.

Hey Steam,

I don't really know about the great shape...? Since I've only been running a year I don't have much of a base to compare. I do know I am improving but to what end I'm not sure so I don't really know what's possible or how to set my goals.

You've got it on the ring and flowwers :-) My original goal was to qualify for Boston within a year of running but I had a darn bone spur that broke off in my knee 30 days before OKC marathon causing me to lay off running for about 20 days. OKC was the only mathon in the good/cool season I could find when I decided to attempt the goal. After 20 days of practically no running I found out the bone spur problem (from the doctor) who told me to simply take about 5 ibuprofen and run. This worked for most of the race but wore off after 21.5 miles. After that it was really painful. Long story short, no Boston qualifier. So now I'm faced with trying to qualify for 2012 before the cutoff date of September 25. TOC is about the only race I can find to do that. So the delima...do I or don't I...or maybe it's can I or can't I...? Still trying to decide, today's run says no :-( Yesterday's said yes :-) Sorry for the long commentary, I've probably repeated myself on most of this.

Well, I just read your today run, Thurs. It looks like you definitely could qualify! You are speeeedy! You just have to have a good run day to qualify! You might have a hard time with the elevation change. TOU starts up Logan Canyon (I think). I was going to run TOU if I didn't get into St. George. The elevation might be a problem for you...maybe not.
