You are ready! Any way to track your progress on this one?

Glad you liked it. I don't have much time now, to tell you how I used this, but What happened to 3:20? Is 3:25 what you need to BQ? If I can track you on line, I might consider skipping church to watch! I mean, I'll be praying anyway, right?

Tom,
I need a 3:30 to qualify but I figure I need a 3:25 to guarantee entry. I've been training for a 3:16 but my calculated equivalent race time based on other races puts me less than 3:10... I just don't want to screw up again!

No athlete tracking :(
Are you going to carry your phone and keep us updated?

When I used that website, I set it for a very conservative start (I knew I would be fighting crowds at the beginning), and an aggressive positive split (I slow way down late in races. Also, the downhill of the race I ran was in the first half of the race). I figured out my "A" goal and "B" goal for the race. I then wrote where I should be, time-wise on my arm at the 20 mile mark for each. When I saw that my "A" goal was still in play at 20 miles, that gave me a big kick of confidence. That's it. All of the other splits were irrelevant to me. I was worried that I would get too caught up in analyzing my individual miles, and lose sight of the bigger goal. That's what worked for me.
