Endure and persist; this pain will turn to your good. - Ovid

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. - Romans 5:1-5

shoveled the driveway (yes, third time in 24 hours). I almost went cross-country skiing, but decided that running sounded more appealing. Wore the NB 790s, which do the best on snow. The roads actually weren't too bad, and I had a decent run. It helped that it was very nice out too. Cold, but lots of direct sun. Went up Smithfield Canyon and back, about 6.5 miles or so. No watch.

4 degrees F at the start of my run, although it was zero degrees at the bottom of the hill, in the fog. Sadly, I'm getting used to it, and it didn't feel too bad. Roads were so-so. Did a random loop to the west side of the Smithfield. 6 miles, 7:02/mile average pace.

Ran from work, Planet Walk. The snow stopped early in my run, which was nice, and roads were in decent shape, although the PW was a little slick. Averaged 7:08/mile for 6 miles.

Hillside to Summit to Smithfield Canyon, then looped back. Roads were not good. 6 miles, averaged 7:34/mile.

Out-and-back to the north side of Smithfield. Warmer today, but roads were a little sloppy and slow. Fortunately my treadmill arrives tomorrow (finally). 6 miles, averaged 7:32/mile.

Finally got the long awaited treadmill. It's a NordicTrack Commercial 1750, and it's pretty nice. I ended up running on it today, because it was raining, and that was a good enough excuse. Hanging out with my wife and kids, watching Veggie Tales while running is infinitely better than slogging through the fog. Did 7 miles at 1% incline, started at 7:00/mile and worked up to 6:00/mile by the end.
