Endure and persist; this pain will turn to your good. - Ovid

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. - Romans 5:1-5

Ran the Loveland Marathon today (formally the Fall Classic Marathon). Weather was in the upper 40s at the start in Estes Park, and was mid-60s by the finish in Loveland. 2500' of elevation drop total, most of which is in the first 20 miles, then rolling hills for the last 10k.

Let from start to finish, and won by about 13 minutes. This is a very small race (<200 runners), so went about as expected. Felt pretty good, and ran a slight negative split. Ran a bit harder than last year. A hard effort, but not all-out.

Splits were 6:13, 5:46, 5:51, 5:34, 5:31, 5:40, 5:34, 6:12 (with potty break), 5:39, 5:31, 5:28, 5:37 (with potty break), 5:35 (1:14:50 at the half), 5:22, 5:51, 5:27, 5:50, 5:34, 5:37, 11:05 (2-mile), 6:01, 5:39, 5:36, 5:50, 5:46, 1:20.

2:29:22 final.
