Endure and persist; this pain will turn to your good. - Ovid

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. - Romans 5:1-5

Big Workout, although not very structured.  It was hotter than I expected this morning, so I ran up Smithfield Canyon to stay in the shade. Averaged about 6:40/mile on the uphill part. Then turned around and did about 5 miles at MP effort, and averaged about 5:30/mile. Legs probably still have some residual fatigue from Saturday, so sometimes you just have to go through the motions and not worry about the splits. Averaged 6:25/mile for 15 miles. And my Saucony Kinvara's turned over 800 miles today. My goal is to get to 1000, which I should do pretty easily. The thing about minimalist shoes, is that by definition, they should not wear out!

AM - West Smithfield Loop, 10 miles, 7:35/mile average.

PM - ran to the bank and back. Ran home with $1000 cash, which is always a little scary, yet liberating to know if I need to buy something for $1000 during my run...I can. Considered buying a gun to protect my $1000, but alas the bank does not sell guns. Averaged 7:15/mile for 4 miles.

I start a new job today, with the company in Fort Collins I've been contracting for. We'll be moving to Ft Collins as soon as our house sells. (so it may be a while!) It's a little bitter-sweet, since we've been in Utah for 10 years will leave a lot here, but am excited about the job and about Colorado.

Long run. Did airport-Benson-Bear River Loop, 20.5 miles total. Did 10 miles of MP tempo in the middle. Today "MP" was 5:30-5:35/mile for the 10 miles, pretty consistent. So it was a solid run, but nothing ground-breaking.

91 miles for the week total, most since March. And now it's almost time for the taper before TOU.
