Endure and persist; this pain will turn to your good. - Ovid
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. - Romans 5:1-5

| Bolder Boulder. Not a great race, rather disappointed in the time and place...although certainly won't let it ruin my day. Never felt good at any point, every mile split was slower than last year. Only difference is that last year I tapered, whereas this year I had a 106-mile week under my belt going into. So it goes with marathon training. Not sure how to approach Duluth now, as no race I've done this year point to 2:18, or even 2:20. But workouts lately have been great.
Warme up 2 miles, ran the race, warmed down 2 miles, and then did 6-mile shakeout when I got home.
Mile splits were 5:03, 5:05, 5:16, 5:16, 5:08, 5:19. Moved up through most of the race; 2 guys passed me, but I passed one back. Just slow every mile was the problem.

| I ended up taking Thursday and Friday off. Was a bit under the weather. Still had a sore throat this morning, but enough energy. Drove out to run the Poudre Trail in Windsor, but it was flooded, so came back home and ran the Boyd Lake-Loveland route from my house. Tried to keep the pace pretty honest, and ran the second half faster than the first half.
23 miles total, averaged 5:59/mile (2:17)
