Endure and persist; this pain will turn to your good. - Ovid
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. - Romans 5:1-5

| Big Workout. Met Mike at work, and then we warmed up 3 miles and did a 10-mile MP tempo, cooled down 3 miles.
Route was Power to Sping to Poudre south, to Arapahoe Bend. Had tailwind the first 5 miles, and headwind the last 5 miles.
Splits were 5:37, 5:34, 5:27, 5:21, 5:16, 5:36, 5:40, 5:36, 5:30, 5:16
Pretty pleased with this workout. Splits weren't amazingly fast, but we eased into the workout, conserved energy with the tailwind, and then were able to finish decently strong going into the headwind. 10-mile tempos are never easy.

| Long Run. 23 miles with Mike. We did the first 5 miles on a mix of bike trail and dirt (mud) trails up the foothills until we eventually popped out onto Centennial on the Horsetooth course. Ran from there into Bellvue, and then headed up toward Rist Canyon. Turned around at 10 miles and came back on the Poudre Trail and then south on Overland. Ended with 2 laps around Spring Canyon park on trails.
23 miles total, averaged 6:42/mile. The first half was fairly slow due to the hills and muddy trails, but we probably averaged 6:15-6:20 for the last half. Refueled with omlets.
