Endure and persist; this pain will turn to your good. - Ovid

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. - Romans 5:1-5

Got hammered with snow yesterday (14 inches), so I did not run. Thank goodness I'm tapering anyway. It's pretty amazing that yesterday was the first day I've missed in this training cycle due to weather (850 miles in 2 months). So not having a treadmill (or paying for a gym membership) ended up being a good gamble. Hate those treadmills.

Today I ran an easy 14 miles. The trails were plowed, but still slick in a lot of spots, so going much faster than 7-min/mile was pretty much impossible. So I did 8-minutes/mile. 14 miles.

Medium Workout. Last workout of the cycle. Warmed up 3.5 miles, then did 6x1-mile at LT, wit 0.25-mile recoveries. Trails were still a little icy in spots, but much better. Still, was slowed down here and there.

Splits: 5:19, 5:20, 5:21, 5:12, 5:11, 5:06.

Cooled down 1 mile. 12 miles total, average pace of 6:33/mile.
