First speed workout of the season.......... Great. So Bill broke the team up into Boys and girls and sent the boys on a long warm up. So we went up to sunnyside and did a lap in there and came back, did a mile of speed changes. Then heard the workout. It was a timed mile, 2 800s, and 4 400s. With recovery of 800 for the mile, and 400 for the 800, then standing equal recovery for the 400s. My times were supposed to be 5:40 for the mile, 2:45 for the 800s and 79-80 on the 400s. So my times went like 6:33, 3:07, 3:05, 85, 81, 80, 79. So on each one I did get faster and I hit my times on the last three 400s but the workout sucked! I don't have the endurance for this workout but I am glad I stuck it out and finished, it was good to see where I am. Then I did a big grass lap and a track to get to seven for the day. I don't know why I didn't hit my times like close at all, maybe a little bit of fitness but most of it is mentally I bet. |
