Tanner, now that he works for the Attonery General in SLC, had us all run the 2016 Law Day 5K that starts in front of the UofU law building and runs around the campous. Me Kenna, Darcie, Katelyn and Tanner ran if from our family. I have not been putting in much speed work because its not as fun as just going out for a run and speed work hurts. No wonder I don't like 5K's.
Anyway it was a beautiful warm morning for a run. The first half of the race is up hill and then the last mile is down hill. The race started off and I hit a pace that was making me work pretty good but that I thought I could hold and maybe was slightly less than my potential. My problem is is that I didn't really find the motivation to go 100%, respectible but not an all out push.
Also my watch measured the race at 3 miles even. On the website it said it was 3.1 5K race but I'm going with my watch. My miles were 7:05, 7:08, and 6:02. The last mile my legs were getting tired and I mentally wasn't use to pushing and I thought my last mile time would be closer to 6:30 because it didn't feel like I was using the down hill enough so I was happy with the 6:02.
Tanner ran it in 23 minutes and Darcie, Kenna, and Katelyn all ran together in 35 minutes.
